my poor persian male named grimlin has mange/bumpy itchy/irritated skin, i 1st put 3oz in 1 gallon of water and dipped him, i quickly realized one bottle is meant for only one dip because your supposed to put 4 oz in 1 gallon so i bottled my last precious ounce of sulfur and dipped him in the bucket, he as not happy my husband and i had scratches everywhere but after putting on a collar to prevent licking til he dried he seemed content with no itch, until 6 days afterwards he was itching again and seemed irritated so i realized i didnt have enough sulfur to dip him in a gallon again so i put my remaining sulfur in a old windex cleaning bottle and put hot water to the top and guess what ?! were on week 4 and there is still plenty of the bottled sulfur left to spray on to his fur, not dipping him into a gallon of the stuff i havent had scratches since i started spraying him, but shake the new mixture before you spray you your cat, dont get in eyes or ears so i spray and rub into the furr with my hands and he likes it better than being dipped and it still works as well as being dipped and the stuff last longer this way, but you have to heat up the mixture before each spray or your cat will be pissed off that your spraying him with cold mixture, do not put the bottle in the microwave, just fill up the kittchen sink with hot water and let the spray bottle sit in the hot water it will heat up that way, and yes my cat grimlin, he licks himself after it dries but i give him a bowl of milk to suck up any sulfer he is ingesting and he is again content with no itch til day 5, i am also giving him twice a day immune support drops for cats that i bought from amazon too and its better than a huge vet bill and a shot of poison the vet would give him so, thats my review, i also just bought a shampoo that is called "SynergyLabs VF Clinical Care Antiparasitic,Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo, 17oz" i havent recieved it yet but it has amazing reviews so i plan on working this into his weekly spray of sulfer and immune support and its better again than stressing him out to the vet when this seems to be working wonders UPDATE- THE SHAMPOO MENTIONED ABOVE IS A MIRACLE WORKER, FORGET BUYING THE LIME DIP JUST BUY THE SYNERGY LABS VF CLINICAL CARE ANTIPARASITIC, ANTISEBORRHEIC MEDICATED SHAMPOO. my cat is HEALED completley!!!! thank god, and no vet bill ;) buy the shampoo on amazon, shampoo your pet every 3 days till no longer needs the shampoo worked within 2 weeks for my cat yay! good luck, thanks

So, yes, it does smell like rotten eggs or a geyser in Yellowstone. And yes, it is a shocking shade of rust orange. But it works! My cat has feline leukemia, and when we rescued a ferrel long-haired kitten, this beautiful golden nugget brought us more than just love - he brought ringworm. We've been "dipping" twice a week (all the cats in the house), and while it's not the most pleasant, it's not awful. Used in conjunction with oral agents (Itraconazole liquid or Lamisil tablets; go to GoodRx dot com if you need help affording oral lamisil), we've seen significant improvement. My nails get stained during the bath, but they soon return to normal. Orange-tinged fur returns to normal. Our towels haven't stained, nor has the porcelain of the tub - but I make sure to rinse everything thoroughly after use. Here are my tips: 1. My vet recommends 8 oz. to every one gallon warm water. No one wants a cold dip! 2. Make the environment pleasant. I heat up the bathroom with a space heater, have plenty of towels on the floor for quick access and soft landings, and make sure to keep calm and confident. The cats can tell! 3. I dip them in a Sterilite plastic tote, approx, 60qt. I put half of the gallon on the bottom, and have another 1/2 gallon in a pour container. Use the "scruff" method to help calm and control your fur ball, and place them gently in the warm basin. Make sure you palpate their paws to expose their claws to the solution, as ringworm can hide! Drizzle, rub, and gently pour the solution over the fur, all the while telling your cats how much you love them and they're worth it. I use a washcloth to get better coverage and permeation. 4. They may howl, meow, or look terrified - but none of my cats have ever hissed or become violent. Be careful though - they may try to climb you like a tree to escape the water. So watch their claws! 5. The head is tricky. Tip their head back and use a washcloth to gently rub the solution on the fur around their whiskers, mouth, ears, and eyes - making sure the solution doesn't go in. Some recommend using a toothbrush for this, but I found a soaked washcloth works better for me. Make sure you get the inner and outer aspects of their ears. 6. Don't panic if they lose fur during the process! Because ringworm lives in the hair follicles, shedding is a natural part of the healing process (it's also a ringworm symptom, so expect loose hairs or patchy loss). Make sure you brush before the bath and after they're dried to control the location of the hair loss, and keep the environment clean. You may also notice scaly skin (like the world's worst dandruff), but it will get better! Vacuum, swiffer, and chlorox wipes are your friend. Good luck! It's a struggle, but it's doable. My fur-amily is completely worth it!

I have a cat that was losing her hair and had very sore looking skin that happened almost overnight. She did not have fleas and is an indoor cat, i couldnt get her to a vet due to covid so researched and researched and every possible cause pointed towards this as a treatment. Its expensive for a small amount and I was not prepared for the stench BUT after the very first treatment her skin has cleared up and within days her fur is growing back.
