Covergirl Matte Ambition works amazing as a bronzer or contour powder. I have used several different products in this line but the powders are much too drying for my skin BUT I do use this same powder in another shade on my nose. It works extremely well in concealing pores and stays on at least 6 hours in the heat. I thought it would be amazing to use this color as a contour and it blends beautifully on top of almost everything I have tried. I prefer using powders like this since they are much less expensive and less glittery than products specifically made as a contour. This powder has a nice sheen and looks fabulous to warm up your face and give it definition.

My favorite makeup is MAC. With this brand I wear NC50. The issue is it is so darn expensive. I am very particular about changing brands because I need it to meet my needs of:1. Cost2. Coverage3. Correct Color4. Staying PowerWhen I first opened this package I was disappointed because a chunk of the makeup in the corner had broken off and there was makeup all over the compact. I believe this is more of a Amazon shipping packaging choice. There is a sponge in the bottom along with a mirror like you normally get in most powder foundation compacts.I was also skeptical because it didn't look like the color would blend with my complexion. In the compact the Medium Neutral color looks like it has red undertones and I have yellow undertones. I was completely floored to see how well it went with my skin tone when I tried it. So it hit one of my requirements of CORRECT COLOR.Cover Girl claims this is a matte foundation, that you can layer on the coverage, and it is an all day powder. I can state that they are very accurate with all of those claims. So this makeup cleared 2 more of my requirements: COVERAGE and STAYING POWER.Like I said I use MAC but my finances are stretcccccched right now. When I ordered this makeup it was fifteen and some change. By the time I received it, it was fourteen and some change. Way better than the twenty six and some change for MAC.Conclusion? This Cover Girl Matte Ambition Powder Foundation ticked all my boxes. I love it!NOTE TO COVER GIRL IF YOU ARE READING THIS: Get with Amazon about how they package this for shipment. It should be in a box with air pillows, not a padded envelope.Also, the safety seal is attached to the bottom label so when you open it you either have to pull off the whole bottom label, that includes the ingredient list, or you have this little tab of plastic hanging off that you keep having to press against the case to keep it out of the way.The other thing is the square shape of this compact is kinda clunky in my makeup bag. The traditional round might be better.

I thought that this would work well for contouring, since it is a bit darker than my skin tone. And it MIGHT have done, if it had been less orange. Try as I might, blend as I might, I could not get it to look good. Yellow or orange-y shades make me look awful.

I'm a true neutral in foundations, but didn't find this makeup by Covergirl to be neutral at all. It goes on very orange and looks strange. It's very matte, almost too matte, and makes my complexion look dull. Also, in places where I have enlarged pores (like my nose) it highlighted them instead of covering them. Not recommended.

Covergirl Matte Ambition is a very good, affordable foundation. I have tried a lot of very high-end foundations—Dior, Channel, etc..., and Covergirl is my go to if I’m out of town and in need of a foundation. Covergirl makes some very good makeup that doesn’t change to an orange tint (like so many cheap foundations tend to do with me). It also gives a good coverage without looking like a mask. This is a medium coverage makeup for me, but you can build it to make it a full coverage, if needed. This does not irritate my very sensitive skin.

The Covergirl Matte Ambition, all day powder Foundation is great. The color matches my complexion perfectly. It does not make my skin look oily, either at application or later in the day. Applying it is easy. I use a large brush and dust it across my face. The coverage is good. I didn’t notice any irritation to my skin after I applied it. And I liked that it didn’t come off on my clothes or paperwork that I handle at work. Overall for the money, this is a great beauty product. I have used other Covergirl products in the past and intend to purchase more in the future.

This foundation powder works pretty well. It's nice when I use it to contour. It has a nice even color and the powder is light and looks nice on my face. It is smooth and allows my skin to breath. Overall, I really like it.
