Excellent ball for backyard pool competition - but maybe not for very young children
I had to give 2 stars under "Softness", but that's not what we were looking for in a pool volley ball (the water volley ball net we also bought on Amazon had a very soft blow-up volley ball that was pretty much unusable). So for older kids and adults, think this was a great choice. But I'm not sure I would hand it over to a 6-8 year old. For the intended purpose, I would certainly buy it again. You will need a needle pump to inflate it, so make sure you have one.

Great pool basketball also
Purchased this ball after going through multiple lighter weight balls from the big box stores. I needed a ball for my pool basketball goal. The ball is a great weight for basketball and hasn't lost any air in several weeks of use, and as importantly not taken on any water. Very good product.

Perfectly Basic
For "non-competitive" pool volleyball (it's just a game, Focker!)... this thing was just what we needed. Other volleyballs are too heavy to be able to set accurately when they're wet, plus when you're old like me, the heavy ones can wreck your shoulders. Great product!

I have since seen balls that are at least as good in supermarkets for $1 - not over $10
This is a rubber ball and priced at least 3 times what it should have been. It is waterproof - ok - but it is not a volley ball - it lacks the weight and it is far too "bouncy" to be a volley ball. I have since seen balls that are at least as good in supermarkets for $1 - not over $10. This is a product I would love to be able to return....

This works great in the pool but its small.
The volleyball is the perfect material for the pool. Its only set back is that its a smaller ball. Probally the size of a child soccer ball, not the Wilson sized volleyball you use on the sand courts.

It's a volleyball, not a helmet
It's a volleyball. Seems to be a pretty good one at that. I wasn't really thinking when I ordered it and was a little surprised when I opened the box and saw a this bowl looking thing. Well of course they don't ship it inflated. Not a big deal, but it did spend the first couple of months at my house as a helmet for my toddler. She thought it was a hat & she looked too darn cute wearing it to tell her she was wrong. We did finally inflate it, it holds air well. It has not made it out to the pool just yet, it's intended home, but I'm sure it will perform just fine.
