Freezer is now defrosting again
Installed on a Kenmore 106.73183302 refrigerator. My freezer temperature was continually just below the freezing mark. I would have to take apart the freezer and manually defrost the cooling elements, about once a week. There was frost buildup on the back of the freezer. After doing some research, I read about this part. Install was simple, and the elements in the freezer have been clear of ice buildup. Freezer is making good temperature again. Product is a huge $$$ saver... Saw the same item going for around 30 bucks. Great quality at a fraction of other stores. Thanks!

Small part that does what it’s supposed to.
Several months ago my converted kegerator was blowing a circuit breaker. After some troubleshooting I tracked the problem to a bad defrost thermostat. I removed the bad one and used the fridge without one for a while. Several months later, I finally got around to ordering a replacement defrost thermostat. After receiving the new one, I installed it without a problem and the beer fridge is back to top notch condition. I probably didn’t need to buy this, but didn’t feel like possibly dealing with frozen coolant lines in my fridge. This part was cheap and has worked well.

Easy fix, great price!
My freezer portion of my refrigerator/freezer kept freezing up in one solid piece of ice. I replaced the heater element (product number WR51X1005) and the thermostat (this product) for less than $50 total and the problem is solved. I was expecting aa service repair person to charge me nearly $1,000 had I used them instead. Try this first; it's easy, effective, and if your coils are freezing up; this is likely your problem. Tip: Remove the old one, use a continuity tester. If the heater is not continuous, then it needs to be replaced. Simple.

Our refrigerator is running properly again!
We recently had some trouble with our refrigerator and it’s actually a really long story, but the short of it is that we had to replace several parts because our coils were freezing up and there were 3 possible problems. This thermostat was one of the parts that could have been the problem and after we replaced it and also replaced the main control panel, our GE side-by-side model # GSH25JSTCSS is running smoothly again and has been keeping both freezer and fridge at the proper temperatures and defrosting properly too for over a week now. The old one might have been fine (since we think the main control board was actually the problem it's hard to say for sure), but definitely we know this one works now. It was not a problem at all for my husband to install - he’s not a refrigerator repairman, he just found some information online that showed him what to do and it was pretty easy and quick.

also works for GE Monogram
You have to love Youtube for fixes. We have a GE Monogram fridge with a freezer on the bottom. Our freezer started to get really cold, -10 degrees instead of 0 degrees, and the fridge got really warm 47+ instead of 37. The replacement part for our specific model was $84!!!!! I suppose it was jacked up because it's a high end fridge....shame on GE for gouging. Instead we ordered this part for about $10...it looks almost the same with the similar manufacturer markings (probably made by the same contract manufacturer). Installation took about 10 minutes. It has been several weeks and it has worked flawlessly: 0 in the freezer, 37 in the fridge. We will never, ever buy any GE appliance again because the pricing on the recommend part was such a ripoff, and I don't really care for ultra liberal CEO Immelt moving manufacturing over to China. Maybe if Jack Welch came back we would reconsider!
