Nursing Diagnosis Handbook: An Evidence-Based Guide to Planning Care

Useful for care plans!

I am a nursing understudy and this was one of my necessary course books. The book is extremely helpful recorded as a hard copy care plans. It is sorted out by nursing finding and has intercessions and bases for every analysis. I have been utilizing the digital book, which is sadly somewhat moderate and irritating to use now and again so I chose to buy a printed copy since I use it regularly. The book I got was in extraordinary condition, practically like new.

I purchased this book as a required book for one of the courses for an RN to BSN bridge program. It is very well laid out, and the nursing diagnoses are easily retrieved. The outcomes and interventions are appropriate to the diagnosis and are helpful in creating more individualized care plans. It is broken down into three sections, and explains steps in assessing for formulation of appropriate nursing diagnosis. Even if you are not currently enrolled in an advanced course of study, this is an excellent reference book for clinically practicing ADN (or higher degree) nurses.

I have been using the mandatory Carpenito handbook for my nursing program and hated it. A fellow student happened to have the 9th ed of this book and I immediately fell in love with it...and subsequently had to have it. The index in the front with all the relevant nursing diagnoses that coincide with specific medical diagnoses is amazing!! And I love having interventions and rationales (including EBN rationales) all spelled out for you in one location. This has saved me so much time with the millions of care plans I have to do. My only problem is that the advertised supplemental material online including pre-made care plans, case studies, a care plan customizer, NCLEX review questions, etc are not available. The website is basically a shell waiting for someone to put the information in. I was extremely disappointed as this was the main reason I splurged on the brand new latest edition of this book. Otherwise I would've saved myself $30.

This book is amazeballs. This makes writing the care plans so much easier than using the regular nursing theory text books. You still need to tailor the care plan to your specific patient, but this book puts all the information in one location on each nursing diagnosis. I may even buy the pocket version of this to make it easier to take to clinicals. I got mine used and it was in like new condition and a fraction of the new price. Definitely a must for any during student. This was not a required text for my program, but it should be.

This book is amazing! I have always struggled writing care plans and often I would get so ffrustrated. Figuring out the nursing diagnosis was always my biggest issue. This book has helped my clincial experience with writing care plans for my patients. Once you open the book and see how to use it, which is simple, then everything is right in front of your face to make your care plan a piece of cake. I'm so glad I ordered this book. I receive good reviews and grades on my care plan/map from instructors. I no longer struggle with the nursing diagnosis.

Kind confusing to understand the logic of how they label things here but once you get the hang of it, you'll be getting better at finding the correct diagnosis and will pave the way for you to come up with them on your own next time. An absolute must have. You will need this book during school and sometimes even outside of school. They could do a better job with information in this book. There is an online part that goes with this book, it seems to be more detailed and offer what I needed that the book did not have. keep that in mind. The online part is made by the same people from what I remember

This book has literally saved me all throughout nursing school! If you are a nursing student.... A MUST HAVE! It will tell you word-for-word how your nursing diagnosis should be written as well as help you to be able to establish care plans too! - I love this book so much because it helped me to get a 100% in clinical on my paperwork! Very easy to navigate through as well!

Incredibly helpful, I highly recommend reading the first few pages of the book to understand how to use it. It has different sections that are explained in the introduction of the book
