This is the ideal trash and recycling solution for a small household. It holds about 1–2 days’ worth of waste for my family, which is just right. The lid opens and closes smoothly, and it does an excellent job containing odors—there’s no smell unless the lid is open.It comes with two 8-gallon bins inside, plus a starter pack of 20 8-gallon bags, which was a nice bonus. The bins are easy to lift out when it’s time to change the liners. I especially appreciate the clever little hole inside that lets you tuck in excess bag material—perfect if you’re using slightly larger liners. Just twist and tuck, and the bag stays securely in place.The only downside was that it arrived with a small dent on one side, despite being well-packaged. Thankfully, it’s on the side facing the wall, so it’s not a dealbreaker for me.Overall, this trash/recycle can is sleek, functional, and thoughtfully designed. Highly recommend!

The most amazing trash can I have ever owned. It's big enough for all my needs, yet easily fits where is convenient in my kitchen. Looks nice, functional & when you flip the 'supposed to be' trash vs. recycle ideas IT wants for you (I tend to be more recycle than trash person) it's great!

I’m honestly so happy with the EKO Edison Dual Trash Can. It looks gorgeous in my kitchen—clean, matte stainless steel—and it feels solid and high-quality. The two removable liners make recycling and trash super easy to keep separate, and the independent pedals/lids work smoothly and quietly. The seal is tight, so no smell leaks out, and the deodorizer I added works amazingly well. It’s a bit heavy, but in a good way—stable and sturdy—and the side handles make it easy to move. Bag changes are simple, and I loved that it came with free sample bags. For what you get—great looks, real durability, and everyday ease—it’s absolutely worth the money.

This is absolutely the exact same can that is sold as the Rubbermaid Dual Stream Step-on. I know, because I replaced that Rubbermaid model with this one after the lid broke. So, I can tell you that the can is mostly good - the trash side bin is big enough, and the recycling side is acceptable, but could be better. The downside is going to be the same issue that plagues the Rubbermaid (as it's clearly the same model): the lid will eventually snap and break.There is a LOT of stress put on the plastic around the screw holes that hold the lid on. Over time, that plastic weakens and it snaps. It took nearly 3 years for the Rubbermaid to break, so I'm hoping this one lasts at least that long. I limped it along an extra month by JB Welding the cracked portions and reinforcing it with an old credit card, but it eventually failed again, necessitating it's replacement.I picked the "EKO" brand because it was half the price, and I thought from the pictures that it looked remarkably similar. That hunch was correct. You can even compare the plastic extruding marks between the two and they are the same. The Rubbermaid doesn't have the spot for the charcoal filter, but you can see in the plastic an outline where that part can be molded into the lid. The bins are the same, just different colors. Same holes in the bins to hold the bags, same metal handle on the recycling side.So, if you want the RM one, you might as well just buy this one and save the money.

love how there are two components with MORE THAN ENOUGH space. easy to put the trash bag in (it even came with one!). lock feature works rly well to stabilize the bin, very good value for money, looks very slay. stable and amazing product.

My new dual-compartment trash looks really nice in the kitchen! The recycling and trash bins are the right size for the kitchen so as not to let much trash pile up. They are also each removable, which makes the fit of the trash bags seamless and hidden. Overall, a durable, high-quality trash can!

Let me start by saying I rarely if ever write poor reviews. Stuff happens and nothing is perfect. When initially purchased, this can was not inexpensive. Really liked it for the first year or so, then it started functioning awkwardly - lid not opening consistently. This is a trash can that’s not used daily as it’s at our cabin so it’s used at most 30-40% of the time. Because it has a three year warranty, I reached out to the company - got to the UK customer service. They were terrific: friendly and very responsive. Sadly, we are in the US and their customer service is non-existent. You call the number and they are never available. If you’re lucky they will call you back. Took forever to get an initial response and then they said their warehouse was moving so they couldn’t respond. I had to keep checking back over the course of a few months. Finally they said the replacement parts are out of stock with no sense of when they would be available - offered me 15% off a new can. I could get 10% just for signing up for emails. Amazon tried to help by providing an alternate number (turns out it was for their legal dept) which was disconnected. US buyer beware.
