Excellent product, durable, trouble free.
Exactly as described. I purchased this 8 months ago for use on my BMW R1200RT. I've been using it ever since it arrived and have not had 1 single problem with it. I am constantly charging my Nexus 6P (with appropriate USB cable) and have used the second port to recharge a spare Bluetooth headset for my helmet when doing an "Iron Butt" 1000 mile in 24 hour ride.I've got close to 11,000 miles on this charger and there isn't a thing I could imagine wanting changed or improved.1 Year later, June 2017: Still trouble free, even though it has been in use on multiple occasions when it was raining heavily.

3Amp outlet with my Iphone5 and it worked like a champ
Purchased it to try it on my 2014 R1200GS LC, so far used it for pre-installed GPS outlet right under the wind shield controls and on a 25 mile ride with speed varying from 30~60mph on country roads it worked very well. Fits snug and hope it stays that way. There is a blue light that stays on once power is applied to the socket so you have a visual cue on whether power is flowing through. I used the 3.3Amp outlet with my Iphone5 and it worked like a champ. It is 150 times better than the "powerlet dual usb adapter" http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/powerlet-dual-usb-adapter

Functions without problems
I got this product to use in my Victory Vision motorcycle to charge my phone and GoPro. After a month of use, I have to say I really like it. The initial quality is high, it's function has been flawless, and I can't say a bad thing about it. The only thing anyone should know, is that physically the unit is large, so it has to be taken into consideration how much clearance you need for cord ends.

Seemed to work well for a few weeks, but ...
Seemed to work well for a few weeks, but now doesn't consistently make contact with the socket on my '14 F800GS. It's probably been plugged in and unplugged 10 times in the last month. If I wiggle the adapter in the socket it will sometimes come back on (the blue LED in the adapter will light), but it stops within a mile. I assume due to road vibration, but this is all new road/pavement. Checked today and I'm 4 days past the return window. Might not be an issue on a $5 item, but for 25 I expected higher quality and certainly a longer life.

A good, secure unit to power usb items so far.
Attached this unit inside my tank bag and I am finally able to keep my ipod and phone charging while traveling. I was using a standard cigarette lighter type connection with electrical tape to keep the previous usb connection tight. That 3rd world connection kept failing.Buy this unit, it plugs in securely and keeps the juice flowing without problems. I have learned not all cheap fixes are worth the headaches. You spend the money to put these sockets on your motorcycle, spend the extra money to get the connection you need.

Who Designed this Thing!
Bought this item for a 5000+ mile motorcycle trip. Besides being designed to work with BMW electronics, I bought it for its physical orientation...which enabled the charging cable to align with the bike, instead of sticking out perpendicularly. Everything else was marginal. I had to "adjust" the "copper collar ribs" that connects to the bike's female part, so the items would at least have a semblance of stability and staying connected to charge. Even after doing this, the item required a lot of fiddling to be in the charging zone. I rode for miles expecting my device to be charged, only to find out the charger became unseated...so, I was back to fiddling. With the lousy charging predictability, if was also just insecure. I ended up jerry-rigging a physical connection, so I wouldn't lose the device unexpectedly. It was quite a disappointment overall. The physical orientation being the only redeeming part of the product. It won't join me on my next XC trip.

Works, but keep it dry.
That little rain cover they give you, use it. I have had this for about a year, perhaps 10,000 miles on my BMW F700GS. Worked fine until last week. Rode all day in the rain with my phone plugged in and the unit crapped out. Only problem prior to that is that lightning cables don't seem to like vibration. I have replaced a couple of times.

Not an issue with this fine unit!
I use this to power stuff while riding my Triumph Tiger 800XC. It works flawlessly and fits snugly in the socket vs. the cheaper one I owned previously that would lose contact with vibration. Not an issue with this fine unit!
