Breville BKE845BSS Smart Kettle Luxe Water Heater, 7 Cup, Brushed Stainless Steel

We have two coffee machine at home, but my son is a tea aficionado and buys many brands and blends. Some of these exotic teas have different “steeping” temperatures, and with this kettle you can select the water temperature and it will be correct when you pour the water into your teapot or teacup.This kettle is so well designed and robustly fabricated that it should last for years. Only time will tell. Highly recommended.

We've used electric kettles for decades, since we first tried them in the UK. Since that time, we've owned Krups and Cuisinart, along with less expensive models like the Cosori. We recently had to return a kettle that developed corrosion around the heating element after just a few months of use, and we decided to splurge on the Breville since it's a daily-use item for us.So far, we couldn't be happier with this purchase. We haven't had it long enough to know how it will hold up over time, but so far, it's our favorite among the kettles we've owned, for the beautiful color and appearance, the smart controls on the base, and -- importantly -- there were no plastic smells or tastes tainting the water. The water tasted perfect after the first brewing which isn't always the case with new kettles. Very happy with this purchase.

Changed the way we drink tea! Super easy to operate and heats quickly and has several temp settings. Easy to operate and reliable to date. Great value for the money!

Good design and nice range of temperatures to accommodate Tea and coffee drinkers alike. Filled it may be a little heavy for some. The lid is quiet and operates smoothly .Definitely a purchase that will have longevity if cared for as suggested.

I love the fit and finish of this kettle. It feels like quality through and through. From the study handle and it's knuckle guard to it's nicely finished brushed outside. It fits in the Breville family well. The temperature settings are great, I actually pick the right temp for my tea now! My biggest complaint is the window - it's very difficult to see through that blue window. I appreciate it's BPA free, but it would be just as handy to have no window at all and put all the markers inside the kettle. The keep warm is a little aggressive compared to my old kettle. It really tries to keep the exact temp you set, even if you forgot about it. It could reasonably drop 20° rather than spin up every few seconds.Is it worth the MSRP? Probably not. Is it a nice kettle? Definitely.

We go thru a lot of kettles at my house. Some are cheap, others expensive, and honestly they all pretty much work the same. But this hot little Breville number is different. Not only do some of then tea totalers in the house like to steep at varying temps but I -- as a person who loves it hot -- get my brew boiling hot, even if I forget to use the water I boiled (as long as I remember to hit "keep warm"). Unlike previous kettles I've had, this one even tells me that it finished boiling the water. While I'd love it if I could leave the water on keep warm for longer than 20 min. or pour a cup and replace the kettle without the keep-warm function turning off, it doesn't -- and neither do any competitors I know of. But for now, this blue babe is awfully cute and has a reasonable small footprint but with a big belly for water. And since we use it at least 4x per day, if it lasts as well as my other Breville appliances, I'll be thrilled.

The media could not be loaded. The tea kettle I purchased began to malfunction after less than 4 months. Normally I am a huge Breville fan and have purchase many Breville appliances over the years as I have always counted on the quality of their products. Super unhappy that they have been non responsive after they communicated that I would get a replacement. I had to send in a video to document the problem and then send in my purchase invoice and now nothing—no response to my inquiries and no replacement. I’m beyond disappointed as I use my tea kettle multiple times a day and have bought these as gifts. It has been over a month since I started this process—I expected so much more from a company I used to consider one of the best. I was happy to spend the extra money because of the reputation for quality—I will be looking elsewhere next time.

Best electric kettle I’ve owned. Love it! Different setting for different varieties of tea.
