Love this style and the sink
Love this style and the sink! VERY heavy! Don't buy the suggested pea trap it sits way too low and weighs a ton. Save the $168 bucks and go get a standard one. My husband did have to throw away the hardware that comes with it and cut the drain whole bigger to fit standard pieces you can fit at Home Depot. He claims it was a pain...but I think it was totally worth it in my shabby chic pool house bath!

Deceptive Sales Practice/Repackaged Damaged Sinks!
We purchased this sink for our laundry room. I ordered it here because it was the cheapest price I found. The sink we received arrived in a cardboard box but should have had a wood crate due to its weight. The product we recieved is clearly a damaged sink that was repainted and packaged back up. It isn’t even the gray depicted in the photos! There are huge rough spots, the rim is dented in several spots and the paint job is sloppy. We will keep it because it will cost so much to ship back but we highly recommend picking this up directly from a store and inspecting it before you leave.

Great mop sink, but a bitch to install.
This is a classic mop sink. I got it for a bathroom/mud room where flower pots, buckets, etc. can be washed away from the kitchen sink. It will be used as a "mop" sink as well. Installation is complicated however. The sink is heavy and must rest on a base or frame. The standard base (purchased separately) is even heavier, but it sits on the floor. The challenge is to get the base coupled to the sink so it doesn't leak, and then hang the whole on the wall in a way that the faucet holes and connection to the house drain line up correctly. The wall bracket has cut outs for the faucet connector, so it is critical to get it and the supply line connections absolutely correct. Unfortunately, if this is on a finished wall, that alignment has to be done during the rough in phase where it is hard to judge that alignment. That isn't an issue if you mount the faucet above the sink, which I should have done but the sink with faucet holes is cheaper than one without, so...

Weak boxing
The Package box it came in was so flimsy and old. Not great

Great Sink, BBBut - drain, P-Trap, weight, etc...
I was doing a garage remodel, and wanted something nicer than a plastic basin, so I started looking for iron sinks. I found this one, and mainly picked it due to material and dimensions. It was going behind a door, in a corner, so the width and "wall-mount" option were key. The drain is a big and common problem. Searching and reading any and all reviews I could find, this was probably the most common issue found. The manufacturer ONLY recommends using their P-Trap for the drain. This serves both as the drain and the mount, since the sink is very heavy ~ 100lbs (not 24 as described). The problem is that the P-Trap is only ~15" tall, making the sink very low and unusable in my installation due to a foundation protrusion and existing plumbing. The sink should come with the P-Trap (there is a 2" and 3" available). Standard 3" utility sink drains or other standard drains do not work. You could build a small platform to mount the P-Trap mount on, but that seemed counter-productive. Ultimately, to wall-mount install in my project, I beefed up the stud mounting significantly, and found the 2CHGR 3" Grid Utility Sink Drain from Nantucket Sinks. This provides a 4.5" lip on a 3" opening, ending in a 2" drain. This worked to fit the sink and my plumbing. I also found American Standard 4311.023.003 3.5" drain which I believe will also work.

Damaged and hard to install
Great heavy-duty sink, but the bottom of the box was full of porcelain chips. Two chips were visible, but the big damage was discovered under the stainless rim. There were quarter sized patches smashed off. I had already installed the sink, and only discovered the damage when I took the rim off to bend it so it fit better, and so I simply put some caulk over the areas and reinstalled the straightened rim. Also it is hard to install. The P trap outlet is only five inches from the wall, so there is no room to angle or curve it to the pipe in the wall. That meant that to get the exact right height, I had to buy a longer piece of threaded pipe to replace the short one that comes with the P trap. Then the challenge is to mount the wall bracket at the exact height so that it can hold the sink on the wall but at the exact same height, the base has to rest on the P trap enough for it to provide support as well. It took a lot of time. Also my garage floor was sloped slightly, so I had to build up under one side of the base with hydraulic cement. Finally, the faucet mount holes are large and I had to buy some bigger washers for the back side to mount my new faucet. Once it is in, it is solid and looks good.

Very nice heavy duty sink
Very nice heavy duty sink. Very heavy. Good looking. We put it in a half bath joining the laundry and it is a very cool look with the exposed pipes.

Not my 'American Standard'
Bought this American Standard Lakewell cast iron service sink. The sink came with large part of enamel chipped off while the shipping box is in perfect condition. To let this obvious defect ship only means very poor quality control. Also bought the American Standard 2 inch P-trape, and the round base plate is missing. Sad to say, but this is not the 'American standard' we expect.
