Good utilitarian faucet, compared to Kohler Knoxford...
I picked this faucet after first purchasing its Kohler equivalent, the K-8906 Knoxford. While the Kohler was kind of an "autopilot" choice due to me mounting it on a Kohler Sudbury utility sink, I quickly realized that this American Standard unit gives me more bang for the buck. The main advantage is this faucet uses quarter-turn ceramic valves. That means no wear, no cranking down the handles, no drips, and smooth, controlled flow. Why shouldn't a utility sink have this? By contrast, for twice the price, the Kohler offering uses rubber O-rings and compression valves. The rough body finish is nothing to write home about. It's utilitarian looking, but in a potentially grimy garage setting, while it fits in, it's more difficult to clean then the doubly expensive polished version. However, it also hides dirt and prints to a better extent, so that tipped the balance in favor of the dollars saved.A garden hose (or a threaded spray head) threads right on to the stubby little end. So does an aerator, which is sorely needed if splashing is to be minimized. The vacuum breaker is a nice touch, allowing water to release from the hose after the faucet is turned off, by allowing air into the line. Its stated reason is to prevent backflow of water into the system, but in reality, it prevents stored water from squirting out when I unscrew the hose. However, the vacuum breaker also allows water that would otherwise be "held" in the faucet after shut-off to "dribble out" of the spigot for a few seconds, a trait any normal faucet doesn't exhibit -- if you're not aware of this, you may think it's a leaky valve or some defect.Installation was a breeze. the process is over-documented by a 3-page installation sheet, but the important thing to know is that 1/2" to 1" of threaded pipe ends at 8" spacing are all that's required to get this faucet secured. The faucet uses a nifty combination of double-nuts and eccentric adapters to eliminate the need for those funky looking "ears" or "wings" that adapt many utility faucets to the in-wall supply lines.

Great faucet
I bought this to replace one Exactly like it that was over 50 years old and used daily! Great basic design faucet that works and is almost indestructible!

Solid sturdy
Very solid and very sturdy faucet. I think I was expecting something half flimsy, but that’s definitely not the case. This is a great option for utility sink.

QUALITY!
after using the usual residential fixtures in my dog grooming tubs for years that did not hold up, my plumber suggested these...super sturdy and very nice to look at when installed in my high dollar grooming tubs!

The Best Commercial Faucet
This was such an improvement over our last faucet and the constant repair of the valves. This faucet has 1/4 turn handles with that and the quality makes it outstanding

Update...Already leaking!
I purchased this faucet for a dog bathtub. It was installed in 2020 by our plumber who plumbed our entire new home...so, not some DIY job.I've used it for less than 2 years on weekends only to bathe 2 dogs...so very little usage. Both cartridges cracked and leak. Still awaiting help from American Standard.UPDATE: American Standard immediately sent new cartridges once receiving my email. We replaced them. Hopefully they will last longer.Several items in our home are made by American Standard. Their customer service is excellent!
