The Highest Quality Case Money Can Buy
Pelican has become the standard in cases, to which all others are compared, and for good reason. They are well built, water-proof, and the included foam allows a custom fit for the items inside. I feel I could drop this case from the loading platform and it would easily protect the contents. This particular case is a bit heavy, so the included retractable handle and wheels make for easy transport. They are a bit pricey, but when you want the best protection, these cases are well worth the price. I'm using this case for my audio mixer and accessories, and feel confident that they are well protected. Moving them from our practice space to gigs is easy as everything fits in one place. Highly recommended.

Why didn't I do this sooner?
I bought this with the 1569 lid organizer for photo gear. Why didn't I buy this case sooner? This is a fantastic way to store gear where you know once its there its safe. I'm not sure I could actually get it to go carry on (it's not sized for that), but its not that far off. Also full of gear mine is really heavy so I'm not sure putting it in the overhead is a good idea anyway. Though I'm not planning to flying with it, maybe a gate check with TSA locks. After receiving this and putting it into action without a doubt go with padded dividers if you want to reuse it in the future. I think foam is good if you have a fixed piece of equipment and you don't plan on changing it out in the future. My photo gear gets replace periodically and this way I can just reconfigure the dividers. The foam would most likely offer more overall protection, but you sacrifice being able to reconfigure it over time and will loose some space just because of the way foam cutouts work. The 1569 Lid organizer is also a must. Simply fantastic and makes the 1560 with padded dividers great. The 1569 lid organizer screws in with provided screws into screw holes already in place. Well done Pelican! If you go with the divider and you plan on travel with this, you'll probably want to put a piece of foam between the gear and the lid organizer. (I'm thinking a towel, since that also has photo uses). But still overall great. Finally one thing to note, I've read all kinds of reviews on moisture in air tight containers that sit closed for long periods of time. Most of them talk about safes where the paper actually degrades fairly fast due to air moisture. Not sure why that would actually happen, but for a little extra I also added in a silica gel descant into my case to help remove any moisture I introduce into it.This case has two latches that close securely but if I were wheeling it around I would consider putting at least one lock or some device into one of the two locking holes just to make sure it didn't accidentally get unlatched and open up. For air travel it has two lock holes near each latch. So you'll need two locks if you want to secure it.

The Pelican Protector cases are the best of the best
Being in the audio visual industry most of my career, Pelican cases are often ordered by the pallet as we purchase new gear. These cases stand up to a ton of abuse and the protector series are at the top when it comes to durability. As a photographer, I have bought many Pelican cases to house my equipment to keep it safe and add more as needed. The price is always tough to deal with but knowing that as long as your stuff is packed well inside, you know things wont get damaged. Even cheaper equipment is worth protecting because nothing is worse than showing up to a job site with broken gear. The protector series are bit heavier than their counterparts but certainly not unreasonable. The corners are strong and the wheels roll nice a smooth. The pull out handle slides in and out easily making the 1560 case simple to move around without having to carry the full weight. The latches snap the lid closed very tightly but with the 2 stage action, they are easy to open.I recently purchased more equipment so I just bought 3 of these 1560 cases with the yellow padded dividers. The dividers are nice and thick and there is a nice array of dividers to configure them to whatever your needs are. 2 of the cases I bought house my 6 strobes. The third case I use for small accessories, grip equipment and random things. Its nice having the piece of mind knowing my gear is dry and safe.

HEAVY duty!
When our sweet church family gave us a monetary going-away gift, I ordered 2 of these to try to corral our ever expanding photography equipment. The cases are very heavy-duty (with the emphasis on HEAVY) and feels as if they could take the abuse from the proverbial 'gorilla'! (for those of you who are old enough to remember the American Tourister ads of the 70's, you understand...if you aren't, you can see them on YouTube :-) However, they ARE very, very heavy, so I don't think I would use them as a carry on (and they might not even fit in the overhead compartments, even if you were strong enough to lift them, fully loaded, up there). But, for what we wanted, they are perfect. We have 2 dslrs, assorted lenses, speed lights, filters, batteries, and all the assorted 'little junk' that goes along with it--in each case. As we were leaving the Northeast for the Southeast, I also purchased some desicant packs to go in them to protect our equipment from the humidity. So far, so good. The padding seems quite adequate, and we ordered the attachable lid organizers from B&H camera to go with them. I feel that our stuff is as protected as we can possibly make it and I am very satisfied. As far durability of handle, wheels, etc., I won't be able to speak, as we basically use ours to store our stuff in and protect it when we travel. It would be quite bulky to carry one along on a shoot, but I suspect that I may do that with some of the senior portrait shoots in outside settings where I have to trek thru weeds, over rocks, and wade through all sorts of underbrush to get to my desired locations. I have no doubt that these cases can take it, tho. I seriously doubt that I'll wear them out in my lifetime!

Pelican for the win
I've been patronizing Pelican for decades since I discovered them to protect my diving equipment. Then I used them for my photography and gun equipment. Then i used these for about anything when traveling. These are the best built hard case you can get without question in terms of performance and durability. This latest case was purchased to house the Ikan teleprompter which Ikan was selling their own branded hard case, but I opted to trust Pelican once again. The dimensions were similar and the teleprompter case was a drop in to this Pelican case. There was a bit more room for this, but it also allows me to house the iPad purchased for the teleprompter as well as manual and charging accessories.Highly recommended. I wouldn't go for any other brand.
