We bought less expensive ones and the taste of our water was awful. Since the taste was so bad and since we had a filter in our refrigerator I thought the our water had really deteriorated. I checked out the cost of a reverse osmosis system and that was going to set me back $850. I found this actual LG Filter on Amazon and, even though it was so much more expensive than the cheaper ones, it worked great. The water coming out of it tastes great again. No more cheap filters for us anymore. I guess you get what you pay for.

Replaced this with a non OEM filter, and the water came out so much clearer.

This solved my issues with ice and water dispenser, and ice maker! Aftermarket filters just don’t have the flow to actuate. Obscene price however.

This LG refrigerator water filter is a quality product. However, it is very expensive. So that is why I didn't grade it a full 5 stars.

As the headlines states, this new LG 5231JA2006F filter is a newer, improved version of the previous 5231JA2006A and 5231JA2006B filters, with greater contaminant reduction than the older models. I've done a lot of research to verify this.It arrived in a dark box with 5231JA2006F on it, and the filter itself was heat sealed. It comes with the Performance Data Sheet, same as the 5231JA2006B version of this filter I've been using for years. This is a top-of-the-line filter, and I just wish it would cost a little less, but it's still much more affordable than buying bottled water, thus reducing plastic waste.Let's do a little math here: for simplicity sake, let's say one gallon of a name brand gallon of water costs $1.00. Since these LP filters are good for 300 gallons, one would spend $300 purchasing 300 gallons of the name brand. Each gallon of water from this LP filter costs .16 cents ($48.00 divided into 300 gallons).

Water flow increased substantially after changeout. Easy replacement.

We moved into a place that already had a newer fridge in it so decided to keep it. We have a 2012 KENMORE ELITE white side-by-side 2door fridge (model 795.51372.011). (Hope this saves some people hours of research and customer care calling)When the change water filter light came on we had to research a ton to find out which filter we could use. After much searching we found this LG 6 Month / 300 Gallon Capacity Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter (LT600P) on Amazon and hoped it would work. It works perfect! Water did taste a little metallicy at first, but after filling about 1-3 pitchers worth of water from the fridge- it is now definitely fine :) Will be buying from here again- because it's much better priced than anywhere else! Just be sure to carefully read the manual on taking old one out and installing the new filter in properly. If you don't- can make a mess.
