Flight, 4-String Travel Series Soprano Ukulele, White (TUS-35WH)

I've been playing concert size, which works best for me, but I wanted to try a soprano and ordered this because of the price and because of favorable comments by members at Ukulele Underground, many of whom recommend it as a durable but respectable sounding "beater" uke for travel, camping, the car, the beach, etc. I chose the yellow color simply because it had the lowest price at the moment. I like the color better (it's duller) than shown in the listing and Flight ads.I am amazed at how good the intonation of the little TUS-35 is and how easy it is to play. It comes with Aquila Nylgut strings. I'm not a big fan of Aquila Nylguts, but they work very well on this uke. Surprisingly, the sound and the intonation are good all the way down to the 12th fret, where the fretboard meets the top of the body.Flight travel ukuleles are known for their durability. This would great starter uke for a kid, but really for anybody who wants to get the ukulele game with a real instrument at a ridiculously low price. I have a feeling that I'll be playing it a lot more than I had anticipated.

Good quality, play is perfect and it sounds real good. Stays in tune, easy on the fingers. I would buy again, happy with purchase.

This ukulele sounds great and it holds its tune very well once the strings have been stretched and tuned for a while. I was surprised at how nice the sound was for plastic, it does sound a tiny bit 'watery' compared to my wood ukulele but just barely, the sound is still very good! It's very sturdy and does not warp or get fret sprout in more humid/warm climates, the only thing is it the front of the headstock and front of the body is pretty easy to dent. Also just to be aware, the strings on both the flight travel soprano ukuleles i've gotten are VERY close to the fretboard, so if that's something you don't like then just be aware of that :)

I am amazed at the sound and playability of this instrument. I'm a seasoned player who wanted something I can throw into my canoe for a day on the river and hanging out on sandbars. The sound is loud, the sustain is great, and once I put on a non-metal wrapped low G string (Aquila Red), I thought I found exactly what I wanted. BTW, I had to file the nut opening carefully to fit that fatter low G string. My ONLY complaint is that the molded plastic frets do not extend all the way to the edge of the fretboard, which has a very comfortable and wider than average measurement. So, when playing, often my fingers will slip off the edge, pulling the string. There is room to extend those frets about 1/16 inch, so it is wasted space. If they made them that way, I would give this thing 6 stars.

The ukulele sounds great and stays in tune.I followed a routine for a couple of days to stretch my strings every time I tuned them so they would ‘break in’ more quickly, and now my strings stay in tune for weeks without changing them, as long as I don’t accidentally bump the tuning knobs.The travel cover looks nice, and I play this ukulele as a hobby to learn music and to play love songs for my girlfriend.

Love it! Arrived safely as the packaging was superb. Was afraid it might be toy like but it's so not. It has a deep mellow sound. Very durable. I have 7 ukuleles and I find myself picking this one up most often. The picture on the front is really nice and it won't chip off. Looks like water color. Very happy with it! I feel sure that I can take it anywhere and it won't get damaged from humidity.

I bought this for my daughter and she loves it. It has great size, sound, and playability.I like the plastic ukulele neck because there are no problems with sharp fret ends. I bought and returned other wood Flight and Donner ukuleles because of the sharp fret ends.
