Great concept, needs better electronics
TL;WR: This hub is pretty and the clamp idea works well. The clamp could be improved slightly, but the hub itself will destroy your drives, so that isn't much of an issue.Let me start off by saying I love the idea of this hub. I like the professional, frosted silver look. I like that I don't have to use screws to attach it. I like the slim profile that stays out of the way. I hate that it has killed 6 usb drives. To be fair, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. The first 4 drives were all garbage, generic drives. The kind you buy at a brick and mortar store because you need a drive that same day. The kind you don't expect to even be able to fill up its maximum storage capacity before it fails. The kind you buy because the casing is cute and you don't expect the storage to even work when you buy it. I'd be in the middle of writing a bootable image to the drive or some videos for sneakernetting to my semi-smart tv when they would suddenly unmount. I'd plug my Those didn't raise flags with me because I knew that those drives would fail. What was the first red flag was when my computer suddenly unmounted my portable-but-important documents drives. A much higher quality, much higher capacity, and much higher price. I won't say it is 'top of the line' but it is certainly not one you expect to fail only a few months after getting it. I heard the 'dingdong' of Windows unmounting a drive and when I removed and reinserted the drive, my FAT32 partition was suddenly RAW. Useless. Unaccessable. But I had a backup of that drive. And only one usb drive had failed, so it was probably on the drive, right? So I erased the damaged partition, created a new exFAT partition in case Windows decided it suddenly didn't like FAT32, and loaded the backup onto the drive. Then the next day I heard the ding again. Two drives this time. The same one that had failed the day before didn't surprise me, but my workhorse drive had, at the same time, failed. Two drives failing in the exact same moment. Two which had been, up until I started using the hub, extremely reliable. Two drives which now don't even show up in disk management when I plug them in.Yeah, it wasn't the drives, it was the hub. I'm stupid for not reading the warning signs before I lost two fairly expensive drives and the data on them. I'm stupid to have had a usb drive and its backup drive on the same hub, yes. I'm stupid for using removeable drives instead of externals for this kind of data. But the hub still ate my drives. Also, the clamp is great. No marring on my desk, even after removing it in a fit of frustration and tossing it in the trash. Easy to install and easier to remove. My desk has a slight curve on the edge to smoothen it out though, so if the clamp portion had been a centimeter or so longer it would have held onto my desk a lot better and not been so 'wriggly.' But still, clamp did its job and stayed attached to my desk the whole time it was killing drives, even if the I had to push it back into a more firm grip a couple of times.TL;DR: This hub is pretty and the clamp idea works well. The clamp could be improved slightly, but the hub itself will destroy your drives, so that isn't much of an issue.

Great for adding USB functionality to the front of your monitor
I got this because my monitor has a couple USB ports on the back, however, since they are on the back, its a pain to plug anything in.its easy enough to install, just clamp it to where you want it, and then plug in the USB extension that comes with the hub.Keep in mind that this is not powered, so you need to keep track of how much power drain your plugged in devices have. It can support a single high powered device, but can take multiple low powered ones, like USB flash drives. The main thing I have a gripe with, is the addition of a pointless blue LED on the front thats annoying in the dark. I get that this is a white label product, but when will product designers learn that blue LEDs are terrible? I just put a small piece of electrical tape over the LED to block it out.

Solid desk mount USB hub
I have been using thunderbolt docks with my macbooks for years. My new job has me working on a System76 Laptop running Ubuntu. No thunderbolt ports on this machine left me needing a usb hub when docking my laptop at the office.I chose this hub because it's aluminum finish matches my desk setup. The mounting mechanism keeps it mounted out of the way, but easily accessible if I need to switch anything out. The mount is surprisingly solid and does not wiggle when plugging and unplugging devices.Currently attached are a WASD coder keyboard, Logitech C920 webcam, BLU Snowball mic and Monoprice USB headphone tube amp. Since, the hub does not have an external power supply, I was concerned that the hub would not be able to power the mic and web cam. Thankfully USB 3 provides enough power to keep these peripherals going. One weird thing on this hub is that the host cable is a USB A male to male cable. I am not sure the reason for this cable choice. It works, but don't expect to use an existing USB A to B cable if you had a longer cable laying around you wanted to use.

Well built, but not for every desk
First, I like the unit. It's sleek and shiny and works like it should. Given the proliferation of USB devices, I had exhausted the ports on my desktop. Having an extension hub attached to my desk not only added more ports, bu also gave a few devices the extra couple of feet needed to make existing cables reach better, and helped clean up my USB cabling. The only issue I ran into is the unit does not have quite enough depth for the beveled edge of my desk. Although I was able to get it to attach, the ~1/2 inch beveled edge on my desk is enough to prevent a secure attachment. A slight bump will be enough to send it falling to the floor. Good thing it's sturdy!

4 Port Desk USB Hub 3.0 Aluminum Mountable Clamp Hub
The 4 Port Desk USB Hub 3.0 Aluminum Mountable Clamp Hub comes in handy due to it can hold up to 4 usb cables that you would have hooked up to your laptop or to your desktop and leaves the usb ports on those devices empty so you can hook-up other devices to your laptop or desktop. I just love it. I think I am going to have to upgrade though to a bigger one now but I do still love it. It is worth the money.

Great little out of sight hub, but beware rounded desktop edges.
This is very well-built and definitely provides good value for the money. It also works great bit I did not do any actual speed testing. I will say it seemed plenty fast to me. The only issue I have with it is that the clamping area is so shallow that I couldn't use it on my desk because my desk has rounded top and bottom edges that the clamp could not reach past.

Good USB Hub, but it does have a design flaw
This is a nice USB 3.0 Hub, and it does feel well built. However, the photos don't illustrate how shallow the clamp is. Most desks and monitors have a beveled edge, so if you attempt to clamp it to the last 1.5 inches, the hub will just pop off the angled edge. If you're working at a cubicle, this would work well; as those desks have a nice square edge to clamp. However, for any desk that has a bevel, the clamp just pops off.I'm lucky that my 2nd monitor had a square edge, so I've got it clamped to the bottom.
