Fox Labs Mean Green Defense Spray- Flip Top Cone Fog (1.5 Oz)

IDK if this is the best pepper spray in the world but it is outstanding. Ive carried Fox Labs for 12 years daily. Ive never had to spray a person but once a ferule animal that was threatening me. It had the desired effect. I dont recommend spraying yourself to test this as there are many videos on Youtube that will show you the result. However I wanted some more reassurance so heres what I did do. I sprayed the tiniest drop I could get out, maybe 1/2 the size of a water drop. I rubbed it on the side of my cheek bone, and took a big sniff of the dry nozzle. Just that alone was enough to choke me up and make me cough. That microscopic amount was enough to make my throat burn for a few hours. My face became red all along the cheek and felt very hot and uncomfortable for several hours. I would never do anything more than this. EVER! It does what it claims to do. And then some. Wow.The only reason I give this 4 stars is that the small unit was significantly more money that the unit twice its size. What sense does that make?

Anyone using this product needs to know about three things: Don't use it on anyone standing high up on stairs unless it's too late to care what happens to them; The same goes for shooting it on somebody on a curb next to fast moving traffic. All lightness aside, don't use it on anyone visibly physically challenged, like the elderly. Telling a judge you had nothing to do with someone having a heart attack probably wouldn't be much fun. Make yourself aware of the laws in the jurisdiction you carry this stuff; I still need to go and procure my paper registration here in Washington, D.C., and start carrying it with me if the defensive spray is with me. Finally, this is great stuff, but keep in mind people that have a high tolerance for substance abuse may already be so doped up they won't notice that great a difference between what they're feeling when they begin their assault on you & when you hopefully nail them at pretty close distance in the eyes & nose; And finally finally, if the cannister hasn't been sprayed recently, there may be a little blip at the beginning of when one presses the plunger before the high pressure stream gets going. Since split seconds are all something like this gives someone, be prepared not to lean in for a fraction of a second or get the nozzle activated just prior to aiming really well. I prefer the cone spray to the stream; Aiming shouldn't take all your attention away from what you should be doing with your arms & legs as well. The Mean Green product will mark somebody so that's good if you're sure you want to have whoever prosecuted. However, it doesn't have the kick of the Black cannister & I tend to want the meanest product, not the meanest paint.

Got the product in great shape. Really like the FOX lineup. Only thing is it was dated 2/15/2011 so there is a 8 month loss on the recommended shelf life of this product of about 2 years.

This is a fog type spray blasting out a cone of spray rather than the thin stream of other models. The cone is easier for close up and moving targets the stream is easier on slower targets or those further away. These sprays have a limited lifespan and need to be replaced as the manufacture recommends. I keep one in the car and my wife keeps one in her purse and one by the front door. The tiny size fits in a drink cup holder or the purse with ease. There's a spring loaded paddle that sits on top of the activator that a thumb slides under very quickly for use. In years of owning this brand and style of spray we've yet to have an accidental discharge.The Fox Labs green label is a stronger mixture than the gold label spray bottles. The 1.5 ounce size meets California requirements.

I like the product, but Home & Baby sent me two canisters dated at over a year old. Not impressed by Home & Baby.

Tested it on myself as soon as it hit my face I was blind for about 20 min and it burned for like an 1hr. Not the strongest out there but still does the job. I gave the fox pepper spray stream 5 stars because it shoots farther.

So easy even a child could use it.Really isn't much to learning how to operate, flip up safety cap and press down while pointing at your enemy/target.Gave it a test run and even maintained a long stream circa 10 feet from my target with mild winds.Fox labs gives you that higher capsaicine level to really inflict the burn on the enemy without breaking the law.Spray consists of a green liquid that cannot be washed off by normal means. It will paint your target making it easier for the authorities to find your disoriented, jacked up assailant. =)Live long and prosper,with Fox labs Mean Green as your defense mechanism.

Got it on time but it was a year old .... sending it back...
