Not what I thought I was buying
I purchased this book in the hopes that I would gain some enlightenment into the behaviors, thoughts and feelings of my sensitive child. I found the book easy to read and informative until I got past the first few pages. I was caught unaware when I started reading about children supposedly living difficult past lives and having dreams and images of those past lives. For example, the author discusses early on in her book about a child that told her parents repeatedly that they were not her parents and that she wanted her real parents. The author stated that she picked up from the child's drawings that the child had been dragging old memories from a previous lifetime into this one. After several session with the child she was able to find out what the "other" family was like and that what happened in that household was very difficult for the child in her past life. This study into reincarnation or past lives was not related in the description and had I known that the author was going to delve into those topics, I would not have purchased this book. I have nothing against anyone who believes such things, but I do not and therefore cannot relate to her explanations and teachings on how to deal with my sensitive child who I can assure you has only lived in the here and now. In short, I do not believe my child lived a past life and was reincarnated, therefore this book was useless to me and I wish the description would have been less deceiving.

Absolutely amazing must read for EVERYONE!
I heard this book mentioned in the background on the today show. Unfortunately I didn't get the title but highly sensitive & indigo had my full attention. I was ecstatic to get this book not only to understand more about our 5 amazing children but also myself. All of a sudden I began to have this overwhelming compassion for not only my children but everyone/everything in this entire world. This has been a lifesaver and should be mandatory for parents, doctors and especially TEACHERS! This book is truly a blessing! Educating the mind body & soul!

This book has become very handy I highly recommend it for those parents who have a very hard time understanding the kid. This book was recommended to be by a couple people, one a family friend who has a lot of experience working with children and our family doctor......I am not very familiar with sensitive children, when I was growing up we all beat each other up. we tore each other down as siblings to build each other back up, just the way it was. made us hard as a rock and realize the world was a cruel place and to never really trust anyone. So in all honesty when my son started crying one day because of something I had said to him in criticizing his actions I was kind of set back a little bit.really at a complete loss to how I should handle the situation especially after he started talking about how he was seeing shadows in his room. This was a whole new world to me, still sort of is. At first I played it off as his imagination but then it came to a point that at age 4 the detail in what he was telling us could not be his imagination. and since he watches PBS kids and bob the builder or elmo. How did he see this ? how did he create it ?This book is not a dictionary or a wiki but it does have a way of explaining things that would otherwise a lot of times be taboo for those who are new to it all and making it understandable and easier to grasp onto. The author has a lot of credentials and background in working with children and make a lot of valid points.Fish evolve ? how about reptiles ? and even tree's ? or grass ? ever had a vegetable in your garden cross pollinate ? Of course you have, the corn we eat today is not the corn we ate when I was child. Everything evolves and changes, why is it we humans try and stop it ? why do we feel the need to medicate it ?Read the book if you need help it is worth it !

Good, solid
Good, solid, down to earth solutions. For us busy parents- I can't read a huge long book that is complicated. This book is user friendly and right on the mark. My kid seems better after making some of the changes suggested.
