I got this because it's the cheapest prime delivered AC/DC power adapter for my large Alienware 15r3. It does what I expect a power adapter to do -- plug it into the wall and laptop, watch the "charging" indicator turn on. The size of this thing -- it's very large compared to the original Dell/Alienware adapter. Easily 2x as thick, easily weighs 2x as much. I honestly thought it was a UPS battery -- it's that huge.I'm buying this to keep a spare power supply at the office -- something cheap ( aka disposable ) -- so I don't have to crawl under my desk at home/work and won't care if someone absconds with it. For my use, it's perfect. However, if you're buying this to replace the existing Dell adapter as a real portable power brick, you'll be disappointed.For the price and capability I'm giving it 5 stars. But set your expectations appropriately -- at the larger size and weight, it really impacts using it as a portable AC/DC replacement.

This works better than the OEM AC adapter provided for my laptop, which was not a Dell Alienware which this is said to be made for. My OEM cable was 180W 19.5V and couldn't handle the demands of the Ryzen 9 3900 12 core processor and GTX 1660Ti graphics card. The first time I played a game on the laptop the AC adapter failed after 45 minutes. This adapter gets warm under loads, but never gets hot. Works exactly as an AC adapter should, well made with proper gauge wiring and the price is fair for the product. Well done, whoever you are who manufactures, markets, and sells these!

Works great as a full replacer. (Had broken DC plug on original unit)

Thick but very durable and works excellent

I purchased this adapter as a replacement for my son’s Alienware laptop. It’s a great product for the price. It charges his laptop quickly and doesn’t overheat. I didn’t realize the importance of purchasing the correct W, V, etc, until I tried buying a cheaper adapter which was slow to charge his laptop and often felt hot. So happy I purchased the correct one for him.

I have a Dell M6800 and it requires a 240W power supply. When my original power supply gave up the ghost after 7 years of use I decided to take a risk and purchased this one. I should have given more weight to the reviews. About two weeks of using it I started getting an intermittent error message stating the power supply could not be recognized. I purchased this power supply in May of 2020 and by July it had failed. Although I wasn't happy it failed, I was more unhappy in the way that it failed. It literally started smoking and then started on fire. As you can see from the pictures the cord caught fire and melted into the brick. (The cord was originally fully seated into the brick when this happened. In trying to do a post-mortem examination I tried to pull the cord from the brick.) You get what you pay for, instead of risking another potential problem I opted to spend the extra cash and went straight to Dell to purchase a replacement.

About the same size as the original, but includes a convenient power indicator at the laptop plug. Was not recognized as a Dell power source when first connected, but that issue went away. It's always worked well. Very satisfied.

I liked it because it didn't break right away, but it caught on fire right next to my head and left a burn mark on my couch.There were no visible breaks on the cable, it was plugged into a grounded surge protector, there was nothing flammable on top of it. Just fire.
