Fresh Gourmet Premium Croutons, Sweet Butter Cornbread, 5 Ounce (Pack of 6)

While I didn't like these cornbread croutons (but I am a *very* picky eater so these being just "different" - slightly different texture, flavor - than regular croutons was what turned me off), my husband loved them with chili. I kept a couple bags for him but gave the rest to my parents who had them at our family dinner gatherings, and they were a hit.My family had them with salads, with soup... The croutons were gone in less than a month. Everybody liked them because they were "different" from regular croutons (someday, oh someday I will outgrow my picky eater ways and be able to enjoy these croutons). I'm fairly confident that if you like new foods, you'll like these croutons, since everybody else in my family was reaching for more of these and asking where I'd found them. They have a rich buttery flavor to them. My sister, who loves cornbread with chili, bought more of these to go in chili-themed gift baskets she put together (these croutons, chili soup mixes, bottle of hot sauce).If you want to just try one bag, you can check Fresh Gourmet's website, they have a handy product locator that tells you if a store has a specific flavor you're looking for.

I first found these croutons in a local grocery and fell in love with them. Nice size, mild seasoning, good crunch, good cornbread flavor. I was hooked. Then they stopped carrying them. And then I found them on Amazon - but they weren't in stock. I waited and waited and finally they were back in stock. Heaven. These are so good I not only use them on salads and in soups and stews, I sometimes throw some in casseroles. My very favorite way to eat them is by the handful straight out of the bag. I will pick these for a snack over any other snack on the market.

I mix these with pumpernickel croutons from Publix for my salads. Publix stopped selling their own cornbread croutons. They're great, good texture and taste and they're not heavily seasoned. It's hard to find croutons like these that don't have enough garlic in them to stun a moose.

I majorly overpaid for this product and am unable to do a return. I bought four packs of the croutons only to find out that they are extremely stale and bad tasting. Now I’m stuck with four packs and I cannot return, which seems extremely unfair.

I liked the flavor of the croutons. They were very crispy.

I am a fan of of Fresh Produce line and have been known to buy things in California and put in my luggage-like these croutons. Apparently not impossible to find in MA but difficult, particularly not owning a car (common in Cambridge) and using public transport or Zipcar.I really like these croutons on top of chili and in Tex-Mex salads. I think they work better than corn chips or cornbread. I only just discovered them so I am sure there are more uses. What I like about them is that they add crunch but are not aggressively seasoned like most croutons.Someone was pretty darn clever when they came up with this idea. I was tickled to find them on Amazon.

I was trying to find cornbread croutons similar to what I used to buy before we moved. These are very hard. They tasted okay. But they aren’t as good as the previous brand I really liked. Wish I could find the other brand where I live now.
