Worked great, until it didnt
This was a great product, well packaged, arrived on time, easy to install, was plenty loud. Loved it!! Worked great. Had it about 6 months and it stopped working. Installed new batteries thinking that they may have went dead, both the sensors lit up like they were working fine. The problem is with the base. It is not doing anything, not working at all. Checked outlet, everything plugged works so…This made for good communication between the canines and me for both sides of the door. Wish it still worked

Good training tool
I bought this a few years ago. I actually used the command velcro strips to stick it to the door. It didn't take long for my dog to learn to push on the bell to go outside. I think it was about 1 week. After about 1 month I stopped using it. It still worked & did what it should (rings when pressed) but my dog got a bit smarter than the purpose of my buying it. She realized rather quickly that the bell means she could go outside-but not only to potty, but to PLAY!So she started ringing the freaking thing every time she wanted to go out & she LOVES being outside. I would take her towards her potty area & she would take off to get her ball or what ever other toys she wanted to play with. Finally, I just stopped letting her out & when the bell got on my nerves, I removed it from the door.. Side note: I forgot to unplug it so when I hit it one day (weeks later) it rang & that furry nut was at the back door in a hot second. I may retry to use this but I'll have to figure out a way to instill that it's ONLY to alert me she has to potty. I would recommend this esp for people with puppies & older dogs.

Good but a few issues
We've had this bell for 2 years. For the most part it works really well however there were a few issues.1. Velcro is so strong it's hard to peel apart when trying to replace the batteries. We either pull the adhesive off the wall or the Velcro comes off the bell.2. We have 1 inside and 1 outside. The outside bell although it says waterproof seems to only work intermittently after awhile.3. Sound selection was difficult to program

My dog uses this to ask to come inside.
This is really easy to install; the doorbell comes with two perfectly shaped adhesive Velcro pads so the bell can be taken down and easily re-attached. We’ve had it for several months now. It is mounted on vinyl siding outside the back door so my dog can use it to ask to come in. It has so far survived some really hot direct sun and some fairly cold (20F) temperatures and still works. As far as training my dog to use it, since he was already trained to ring a cowbell to go outside, so it was really easy to teach him to use this to ask to come in. Here is how I did it.1. After installing it, for a day or so. every time my dog would come in, I would activate the doorbell with my own hand so that he could start associating it with both the sound it made and with coming in the house.2. After he saw me do that a while, I started removing the doorbell from the side of the house and gently tapping his nose with it while saying “touch it” just before he would come in each time. I repeated this for a day or so as well, but if your dog doesn’t come in and out a lot, you might need to do it longer.3. At that point, when he wanted him to come in, I would take it off the house, hold it in my hand, and get him to tap it with his nose himself by saying “touch it.” To get him to do that quickly and reliably took only a handful of tries. He’s a smart cookie.4. I figured the next step would be to get him to touch it on the side of the house (it’s right next to the back door), but he figured out how it worked at that point and began ringing it to ask to come in. Every once in a while I still point to it and say “touch it” and have him ring it before I let him in, just to keep that skill fresh in his mind.I think I should add a warning, though: my dog rings the bell not only to come inside but also to get me to come to the door so he can ask me to go outside and play with him. It’s really cute but also pretty annoying. Lol. I hope this is helpful!

Haunted house ?
This bell works great for house breaking, this one is a replacement to the 1st one I bought (different brand) it works as advertised, I gqve it 3 stars because either my house is haunted or the bell has issues as it goes off on it's own alot! It bad enough I have to unplug it ever night before bed because it will go off at 1:30 in the morning and wake everyone up. Unfortunately this isn't a once in a while issue,, it does this daily ! As far as training your dog to use it, it takes patience, it took my daughter a couple weeks to train my bully and my dorgy, the dorgy never actually got the idea, has no clue how to use it. My bully didn't get it after a few days, and she gave up, then a couple days later he just started using it on his own. Havnt had 1 single potty in the ouse in months since he Figured it out, definitely recommend one of these
