Starkey HearClear Wax Trap for Hearing Aids - 6 Packs = 48 Filters!

I've had Starkey hearing aids for many years, and have endured (or experienced as you prefer) all the prior attempts at keeping wax from plugging up the molded ear pieces on the aids. They had metal 'trap doors' that sometimes came loose and got lodged deep, deep within your ear. One time I had to have a ENT surgeon come in to the audiologist's office and use a deep probe to get one out. Finally, the aids I bought had these wax guards - this was several HA versions ago - and I think they have finally got it right.The product has itself been improved over time; where I used to have to go to the aueiologist to have the wax vacuumed out of the deep recesses of the aids, now I just change these out and all is like new (with proper cleaning of vent tubes and other parts of the instruments, of course). They need to be changed out at least weekly, and I always carry a pack so I can do it 'on the fly' if needed.The little sticks that have the guards on them have a blank end to remove the old wax guard; the theory is you then flip the stick over and insert the new guard. I've found that to be a pain, and just pull the old one out with my fingernail and put it on a tissue for disposal, clean around the opening and insert a new one, then dispose of the stick. Be careful inserting the new guard - don't put it into the vent opening, and maneuver it carefully so it comes off the stick and stays in place in the aid (ask me how I know!). You will eventually get the knack of it. A fine product, well priced on Amazon, and indispensable to those with Starkey hearing aids.

Ive tried almost every brand hearing aid filter, but this brand is now my go-to product. I especially like the pull-out-throw-away-push-in replacement procedure. No twisting or damaging the new filter with this item.
