Restoration House: Creating a Space That Gives Life and Connection to All Who Enter

I purchased the book unfamiliar with the author’s blog. I saw it’s rave reviews, read the summary, and bought the book. Too bad it’s too late for me to return it.This is not an interior design or home decorating book. It’s about the author’s relationship with God with design and self-empowerment tips sprinkled through out. And the tips are buried within her life story, so there’s no easy way to just pick up the book, get the info you need, and move on. The book is designed to be read cover to cover (or at least chapter by chapter), which again makes it less like a interior design how-to book and more like a memoir. I wish the book's summary was more honest, or at least that the book was more evenly balanced. Also why are there self-empowerment messages in here? We’re talking about throw pillows!Even leaving that aside, the book is disappointing in other ways. The photos selected are random stock photos that often don’t match with the accompanying text. Furthermore, the text is repetitive. She uses a lot of words to say the same thing in each chapter, and what she has to say is actually very little. The book could be 50% shorter with no loss in content.This book is mainly for fans of her blog, and I’m sure they enjoy it. As for me, meh. I pass.

I love this book so much, I gave it to my mom for mother's day as well. In a world where we are told just what things should look like, I love how this book challenges you to look inside of yourself to see who God has made you to be, then make your home the authentic representation of your story. Hospitality doesn't come from perfection, but through authentic relationship and willingness to invite others in. Beautifully written, inspiring photographs and tips for home decor any style can follow

Listen, this is the book you never even KNEW you needed until now. Never I seen beauty and heart felt authenticity combined so well together.If you ever struggled with #pinterestenvy, discontentment in your home, or if have ever struggled to create a space that reflects your family or personal purpose and welcomes people in, then this book is for you!If you ever scrolled through Pinterest or Instagram looking for decor ideas and felt like the space you had was simply not enough. You pin one more thing to that dream home board on Pinterest, hoping someday your space will finally measure up to this collage of perfection you have curated over time. When everyone has wood floors and open concept homes and your just trying to scrub out the stained carpet that wont seem to budge. real life! She dives into all of that. Loving it!

This book has helped me make my home more inviting and warm. I'm inspired by the word of God sprinkled throughout the text. I'm truly embracing home as a place to restore my soul.

I love this book and have already purchased more as gifts. I was not expecting it to have practical DIY tips/instruction as well as encouragement and beautiful photos. I have not seen another home decor book like this, ever. And the cover is so beautiful I have it displayed in my kitchen! Restoring home and soul, one with the other, is so needed and necessary in this culture of instant consumerism and our ever searching need for fulfillment. Get this book!

I have been waiting for this book to arrive and it just got here! I could not be more excited about it. It is absolutely beautiful and so well written. I literally can’t put it down. I love how genuine, real and down-to-earth the author is. It not only inspires me to create a beautiful home for my family but also to create a space of restoration, love and joy where friends can gather together.

This book...This book is absolutely amazing! The photos are gorgeous and calming. The wording is impeccably descriptive. This book truly helps to cultivate a love for home and create an environment of peace and serenity and restoration. Hands down, out of all of the beautiful coffee table books that I own, this is by far my favorite.

I went with the cover and the saying "don't judge a book from it's cover" proved me wrong. I should have read the reviews from others that this book is more religious focused. Not one paragraph or page goes without the writers mention of 'god'. I'm a religious person but my purpose to buy this book was to learn more about restoration of the house and presenting your home/place in the house. Please don't waste your money buying this book unless you're a very religious person and almost like to talk about god in every sentence you speak.

This book has nothing to do with Restoration of a House, more Self help, Journaling, Bible Quotes & personal lifestyle experiences.How to feel.... blah blah blah Bible Quote.... blah blah blah.... 10 things that make you..... blah blah blah Bible Quote.... blah blah blah. Complete and utter waste of money. It’s going back. This should be marked as Christian Self Help.

Can’t say enough about this book. It wasn’t exactly what I expected but EVERYTHING I needed! A refreshing spin on a book about ‘home’ with the perfect balance of inspiration for life and godliness. Love it!
