Thermopore Heating Pad
This heating pad is one of the best ones I’ve ever used! I’ve used thermopore heating pads for about 35 years and recommend it highly if you have pain, especially arthritis. It’s expensive but the quality is great and it is built to last. It gets hot so use with caution, it has three settings. Was packaged very well. The cover is washable. I use mine daily and have had no issues.

Great moist heat!
The previous Thermophore I had lasted 30 years! I only had to replace the cover once! This is my second heating pad, AND, if it is anything like my previous pad, it should last a very long time.Best heating pad on the market, IMHO.

No other heating pad compares to Battle Creek
I’ve owned the heating pad that had the trigger on it for years and loved the heat it gave off, a couple of zip ties on the trigger helped to keep the pad on instead of holding it. Recently it started not heating up if laid flat, I had to scrunch the pad up in certain spots to get it to heat up, figure after all the years of use there must be a disconnect in the wires in the pad somewhere. Decided to buy a new one and I like that it has button control now to go from low to high. This one has the same great, hot heat that the last one had so I am happy about that. I haven’t read the instruction booklet yet as I just received the pad today 10/10/21. I’m not crazy about the auto shutoff (have to read instructions) and there is a strong odor to this pad that I saw another review had mentioned and the odor does get on your clothes and beddings that the last pad I had did not have. Hoping over use it goes away but took off a star for odor but still the best pad for hot heat.Update: 10/22/21 The strong odor I mentioned has almost completely gone away with use. I think after another few uses it will be gone. Also, was not really a mold/mildew smell that other reviewer had mentioned, to me was a more medicinal smell but much better now than when I first started using the pad so back to five stars for Battle Creek. If you need HOT heat Battle Creek wins hands down.

a repeat purchase
We have been using these heating pads for probably 15 YEARS! My husband, especially, uses them year round. He loves the moist heat, the length of them, and ease of use. We eventually had to replace them because the control lever would wear out, possibly a worn wire or spring? But this time the heating pad came with a button type control, where you put it on low, medium, or high, you don't have to hold the pressure control lever down to keep the heating pad on. I think he's going to like this better, and maybe they won't malfunction.

heats up really high
i have muscle spasms in my shoulders/neck area, and have gone thru so many heating pads from walmart (sunbeam, etc) and they only seem to last 1 year before they wear out because they just dont seem to get very hot, and i have to leave it on for hours at a time to penetrate my tense muscles. that is not the case with this one, the thermophore max heat heats up to more than enough and the 20 minute time interval is usually enough, sometimes i keep it on longer than that, but i have to move it around from place to place because it really does get quite hot, and i dont want to burn myself. it is such a nice relief to have something that actually gets hot enough, i'd rather it get a little too hot, and move it to a different area than to have to keep laying on an inferior one that never gets hot enough. this one (thermophore), i do not lay on top of, it would scald for sure, you lay the pad on top of you, and it works plenty. however, with sunbeam i would actually lay on top of it, with my weight on it, still would not penetrate the muscles. hopefully this gives you a good idea of how good this heating pad is. my only hope is that it lasts longer than a year, then i will be super happy. having to fork out money every single year for a new heating pad is ridiculous if you ask me.

BAD ODOR !!!
Upon opening the heating pad from the box, it smelled horrifically bad, a musty, or moldy smell. I let it air out for weeks and it didn’t improve. When I turned it on to heat up, the smell intensified to the point of making it unusable. Also your clothes picked up the same musty odor.
