Great Scent!

Impossible to find Laura Ashley No. 1 perfume since the store closed down. Can’t find it anywhere. I’ve looked for years. They used to sell it at tjMax after the Laura Ashley stores shut down. This is my second time trying to get my hands on it. The bottles look like they are correct but the scent is way off. It was my favorite perfume in the early 90’s. I was so excited that I saw 4 bottles of eau de parfum body mist that I bought all 4. Unfortunately, as my previous experience with another retailer, it does not smell anything like Laura Ashley #1! So disappointed! I wish there was a way to reach out to the laura Ashley original owners/store to re release the original scent. Nothing smells like Laura Ashley #1. I have 1 drop in the original glass bottle left from the 90’s that hasn’t dried up yet and I won’t use. Someone on eBay was trying to sell it for more than $500. I Considered it but it was way too expensive. Just so this retailer knows, it does NOT smell like Laura Ashley #1 perfume.

While the scent is quite nice, it is definitely not the original scent for Laura Ashley No. 1 which is what I’d expected. I still have some of the original so I can easily compare. The original was discontinued a long time ago so I was delighted to see this product, assuming it would be the same. Alas, it is not. Nevertheless, it is a nice scent and I use it routinely.

In 1991, my first job at age 15 was working at a movie theater for $5/hour near the mall. I thought it such a glamorous job because my uniform was a nice crisp white shirt and black slacks. During my break, I'd head to the mall and sample all the perfumes. Laura Ashley #1 was my favorite. It was light and sweet and floral and didn't give me a headache. I saved up and bought a bottle. I think it was $70 then. Shared my expensive perfume with my friends who loved it too. I was heartbroken when it was discontinued.So excited to see this listed on Amazon. Had no idea anyone still made it. Got it today and it is NOT the smell I remember and wore. Instead of being light and sweet and floral, this is musky and pungent and stinks. I've scrubbed my wrist with plenty of soap and water but can't get the smell off and now I have a splitting headache. Will be returning.Edit: apparently, you can't return it. Because it's marked as hazard or a flammable or something. Had to give it away in my BuyNothing group.Do not buy!

Used to wear this scent all the time so thought I would give it another try. I know this is just body mist but the scent does not last even an hour. Make sure to put some on your top, shirt or blouse and that way you will get a wiff of it once it's no longer on your neck.
