I love this coat. I am a 5'8" 160lb female and I purchased the small and it fit great. I bought it for use in lab in my Organic Chemistry course because I was worried about the reagents we use staining or burning holes through my clothes. Indeed it has done well to prevent a couple small spills from damaging my clothes. I did a lot of searching - at my universities store where they sold lab coats and I found the Dickies coat to be the highest quality. Most of the other lab coats I encountered were oddly sized and way too flimsy and thin. Granted I'm not intending to look fashionable in my lab coat - but this one fit nicely without it being terribly baggy. I wasn't interested in the female sized lab coats for the reason that I wanted a longer coat that went down to me knees to offer the best protection. The fitted female coats only went down to 31" and were more expensive. I must say that as a female purchasing the men's coat, the shoulders do seem to be slightly large. It works for me since I have broader shoulders for a woman, so if you are female looking into this, you may want to order on the small size.Features I love include the internal iPad pocket. It fits an iPad well - although I personally wouldn't keep my iPad in the pocket since I have the coat buttoned up the entire time I am in lab. The breast pocket includes an additional slot to hold a pen/pencil - certainly a great little feature when you find yourself needing your pen accessible. The pockets at the hips are deep and hold many things well. The cotton material is thick and very soft so you can't really see through the coat even if you wear a dark shirt underneath. It includes a small loop at the collar for hanging up your coat if you desire to do so.My impressions are that the designer for this coat put a lot of forethought into the needs of those who would wear this lab coat. I would highly recommend for anyone who needs a sturdy full coverage coat with many pockets!
