Great Outhouse light but.....
This is a great light for my Outhouse. The only issue I have is that is doesn’t stay on when it’s daylight outside. It will run for a minute or two and then it shuts off. At night it stays on until you turn it off. I’m not sure if there is a button combination that will make it stay on during the day too.. but if there is... I haven’t figured it out yet. I’m also not sure if it disconnects from the panel so you can run the wire through a hole. It didn’t appear that it did when I hooked it up. Some other reviews said it does disconnect from the panel. Anyway I was able to make a small notch in the top of my door trim and run in through there. Took like 5 minutes to hook this thing up. The remote has to be pointed at the SOLAR PANEL.. NOT THE ACTUAL LIGHT, which is kind of dumb to me because usually you put panels on the roof. Mine is mounted right next to the door so I can leave the door slightly cracked and still control the light.

Misleading information
I purchased this light so it could light up our dark gazebo. Installation was easy and we were excited to finally have light. Unfortunately, no where on the listing does it say that it ONLY works if the solar panel is in complete darkness even if the light itself if in complete darkness. This is mentioned in the "troubleshooting" section of the instructions. We intended on using this during the evenings when it was just getting dark out. This is the equivalent of a fancy pathing light. Around 10 PM it finally turned on even though it had been what I thought was "dark" for quite some time. As a matter of fact, my path lights lit up well before this light finally came on. It was definitely bright, however upon pressing any of the "brightness" buttons it would change brightness for a moment then flash back to full brightness.

Not at all what i thought! Read reviews!!!
I wish i had read the other reviews!! The panel and the light are hard wired together, so in order to get the light inside of a building you have to run it through a window or a doorway or have a hole large enough to run the panel back out. Although the biggest problem is that you have to point the remote control to the solar panel to turn the light on and off. I do not understand the logic behind that period and had to go back and read instructions to figure it out. After several failed attempts to turn a light on inside the shed. Another problem is that the line or wire is very short. This greatly limits the options of installation. To avoid the hassle of driving an hour back in the town and rescinding these back I just look at other reviews and pictures that people posted the check out other installation options. They absolutely will not work at all further installation ideas I had in needed them for. Will have to look for other options. I had actually but 4 of these units so $120 lesson learned to read all reviews before you make a purchase.

Very happy with my purchase!
I purchased 2 of these solar lamps, to go inside my barn stalls for my horses. Installation was easy! It gets decently bright at night, just depends on the cloud coverage where you live (as they're solar). They both came with a remote, and I have my lamps set to automatically come on when the sun goes down, and to stay on for 8 hrs. *BEST PART is: NO electricity bill for these!!* Much smaller than what I thought, but I will definetly buy again!

Must have line of site to solar panel for remote
I wish I had read the reviews more completely instead of just looking at the stars. The lamp and solar panel ARE HARD WIRED, so you need a hole in the wall big enough to put one or the other through to get the panel mounted outside. Secondly, and the most mind-boggling thing is, the remote has to have LINE OF SITE TO THE SOLAR PANEL to control it.I bought this to use in a small livestock barn. I hung the lamp and ran the solar panel outside and mounted it where it would get good sun. Only that night did I realize that you don't point the remote at the light to turn it on/off or control settings. You have to walk outside where you have a clear view of the solar panel and use the remote. How bass-ackwards is that?!!? That just does not work for me. I'm in upstate NY and don't want to trudge across the ice and snow in 5 degrees to turn on the darn light. Sending back for something more sensible.

Very dim and inconvenient.
The brightness this light puts out is very dim, even on the brightest setting. The light is controlled only by the remote, and the receiver for the remote is on the solar panel, so in our case, you have to go outside the room the light is mounted to turn the light on, and then, it doesn't stay on for more than 30 seconds. There are buttons for 1+ hrs, 6 hrs, but nothing seems to make a difference. Our application is a small tack room in an outbuilding, only 6 ft by 8 ft, and it doesn't light that small space nearly enough.

Very Bright for such a small unit.
It’s much brighter than I expected. Hard wired, so don’t expect to mount the solar panel outside, and feed the wire through a grommet hole.Fortunately for me, the house I just bought has a rotting shed (for which the light was intended), so I simply cut a large enough hole under an eave, and slipped the panel through.Just don’t overlook the on/off switch on the solar panel itself. Stupidly, I thought it was defective for a week before I realized the switch on the back of the solar panel had to be turned on.Great little light.

Not a good product
Could not install light inside shed with sola unit outside. As units are hard wired together.
