Expensive but worth it to keep my son busy just now
I wasn’t sure whether to invest in this as the cost is so high but I decided to go for it as my son and I have plenty time just now to play with it. He is 8 And enjoys Lego but isn’t a Lego or coding genius, the box says 10+ but that does not appear to be a problem for him, in fact I have to ask him to go slower so I can follow what he’s doing. He has loved building the hopper and then went straight to the safe which he built and coded entirely on his own. He says this is much better than Boost which he has had for 2 years and loves but was a little frustrated that the coding was limited in what he was able to get the robot to do. The additional motors and sensors in this kit make it much more engaging.I’m thinking when I eventually get back to teaching I might be able to use it with S1/2 pupils but I don’t think our school will be able to invest in it due to the expense without grant funding. Now the question is whether to get the expansion set, my son is already looking at what to build next but some of them require parts we don’t have. Another big investment... but tempting.
