This mat is great , keeps the feral cats out of my flowers and veggies garden. I also use coyote urine all around the garden for help. I also found that the resident raccoon has stayed out. I am buying more product as I need to really protect my corn. This mat is a med hard plastic with upright plastic, spikes. THe mat was easy for me to cut to size around the flowers. THere are gardening pins that also come with the *kit* to pin the mat to the ground so it won't move. There are only a few pins available with the set so i bought some pins that are used for weed block. The spikes aren't painful to touch or even for an animal to get impaled . It's more of a deterrent .I suppose if the animal were large or determined they would still walk on this. I think it may be useful to detract squirrels from digging. I'll have to try this.So far, the mat has been on the areas in need,( the really peed on parts I dug the dirt up first and added sweet lime to help neutralize the pee.) the mats have been on 8 days now and I check them daily. None have been pulled up out of place and I have not seen any poop, pee? I am going to assume, none there. I am so glad I bought this ! It has saved my garden ! I recommend it. In fact, I recommended it just today to a neighbor and she trotted home quick and ordered some !!

Works very well around the plants and trees

I bought this to protect the potted plants I winter over inside. I quickly learned that my young cat loves to dig. This product was easy to cut around the roots. The spikes intended to hold down the netting are far too short to serve that purpose against a determined cat. He quickly learned how to pull the netting off. Since it comes in a roll, it tends to roll up when in use. That being said, I didn’t spend time trying to flatten it before use. It’s now doing the trick with some small rocks holding it down. The spikes definitely work to deter animals from jumping onto it. Overall easy to use and effective. Agree with other reviewers that it may be overpriced given the modifications to make it effective.

This product was easy to cut to fit my flowerpots I have outside. It keeps the squirrels from digging in my pots. I recommend this product to those who have squirrels digging up your plants.

I've ordered this products (both in black and white) multiple times for almost a year now. It definitely deters cats from your furniture, pots, etc. The spikes are sharp enough for the cats to stay aways. If you need this product for indoor use only, then you're in luck stop looking this is it for you. However, if you're using it outside, then it's different story. We have stray cats in the neighborhood and unfortunately my next-door neighbor feeds them so they come to my house to lounge and take a siesta on my furniture. They completely ruined my outdoor cushions (which I had to replace) and my allergies were having a field day. I laid this product on top off all my chairs, couches, etc. outside, I even zip tied it to fence and gate and finally the cats got the message - "stay away". It's been almost a year and I don't see any trace of the cats in my garden. I would give this mat 10 stars from that prospective. However, the mat doesn't last outdoors at least not in part sun (maybe it will with full shade outdoor). The plastic becomes brittle and falls apart after about 1 month or so outside. I'm constantly buying batches to replace the brittle one, hence the lower rating. I wish love the manufacturer finds a solution.

I bought 2 of these to create a perimeter for a herb garden. Railroad ties form the perimeter of the garden. I attached these deterrents to the tops of the railroad ties. Within the first hour, one of our cats hopped up and walked right across this deterrent.

I find it incredible that this actually worked. We have a Yorkie who relentlessly tries to dig holes all around our backyard shed in search of something living beneath it. I’ve attempted to block his access by placing landscape logs, but he’s persistent and has found a way to move the ends of the logs, allowing him to continue digging. The day I laid down these mats, he was extremely curious and cautious. He attempted to place his paw on one of the mats, followed by his other paw, which startled him and caused him to jump back. I’ve observed him every day and night when I let him out, and while he still occasionally runs around the shed a couple of times, he eventually loses interest and goes away. These measures have been a significant relief.
