Good price and quality
Great for phone needs. Have used for many years now. Connectivity is great, easy to set up and the sound quality is superior. Will continue to buy when needed again.

Still a great option for low cost
I had to replace one after about 3 years. First bought MJ Plus in 2017. In 2019, the phone lines were getting a lot of static so I replaced our 10 yr old cordless Panasonic phones with new ones. Didn't help. Searched internet and learned it might be MJ as it may have taken a hit with our continuous lightning storms. As soon as I did, the line was crystal clear again. I put the second one on a surge protector. MJ worked excellent on our FiOS. Never any problems. All calls were crystal clear, no lags and callers said the same on other end.A year or so later, the MJ app was rolled out so I could make/take calls and texts on my iPad! Super convenient. Can also call into the voice mail with the app to pick up messages. If power goes out or if I disconnect my MJ or my phone, then calls will be recorded as a .wav file and emailed to me. Another handy feature. Call forwarding is included with MJ which came in handy when we were without internet as calls could be forwarded to my husband's cell phone. Connecting with iPad contacts is optional. Once I did that, I could block callers and names would show up in the MJ app's call menu for ingoing, outgoing and missed calls. I can search to place a call to someone in my contacts right from the MJ app. I can turn on ipads DoNotDisturb feature and calls will go straight to voicemail without ringing. However we moved to rural America in 2022 and stuck now with sucky internet. Only option here is microwave tower, cellular and satellite. We've tried them all. Cellular hot spot with booster antenna gives us the most stable internet but we have a lot of packet loss during daytime (10-40%) which means MJ isn't working well between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.Still it's better than no home phone. Works just fine on weekends, early mornings, evenings and sometimes during day.I did try OOMA here but the internet is so bad I couldn't even get Ooma software updates to load on the telo after leaving connected for 18 hours. I was hoping maybe Ooma device might be more robust since it's four times the size of MJ. But in the end could never get Ooma to work.I contacted MJ support when first installing and when porting and when setting up the second MJ. Support was helpful enough each time.My husband and I switched to needing a hearing impaired phone (with on screen captions) last year. We just can't hear conversations well on cell phones and traditional phones any more. For residential home phone service, I am quite satisfied and I can't beat the price. It's not the fault of MJ that this internet is too slow. If you have decent broadband and no packet loss it works great.

magicJack home phone
Doesn't have caller ID except for numbers in your phone book. Easy setup with your laptop computer and works good.

Magicjack is a cheap alternative to remove the Phone Plan.
Magicjack is a cheap alternative to remove the Phone Plan from cable companies, but has limitations.Caller ID is used to display the telephone number of the person calling you and is included free with magicJack service.Caller Name ID which is used to display the name of the person calling you is not currently a supported feature.Requires prior activation, and isn’t free. Payment of the magicJack 911 billing is not mandatory, however. If you elect not to pay the fee, magicJack will simply turn off your 911 service. You are responsible for providing an uninterruptible backup power supply to ensure continued operation of electrical equipment, including customer premises equipment necessary to provide Internet service, in the event of a power outage. You need a Belkin RG BATTERY BACKUP REVISION B 12V DC UPS BU3DC001-12V to power the router.A 5V 2A 44W UPS Uninterrupted Power Supply Alarm System Security Camera Dedicated Backup Power Supply US $22.88 to power Magicjack.0-50V 4A DC power supply filter board Class D power amplifier Interference suppression board car EMI Industrial control panel , between Magicjack and Power Bank Battery Box.A New USB DC 5V 2A US Plug USB Power Supply Adapter Converter Charger *5V 2000 mA* to charge the 5V 2A 44W UPS Uninterrupted Power SupplyThe setup isn’t very friendly but watching videos, and help by customer services finalized the process. It took me 10 minutes chatting, that failed to resolve, but a call at billing solved the problem. Porting of my number from AT&T to Magicjack happened in 24 hours.I didn’t remove my phone from AT&T router, instead a bought a $8 at local store connected to Magicjack. I was able to use my phone until porting happens and after transferred the Telephone Cord from AT&T router to Magicjack. The audio is crisp clear because I connected the phone cord to the Majicjack and three other phones are wireless. The 0-50V 4A DC power supply filter board helps to filter any noise coming from the power supply.Update: After 2 weeks on use, the Magic Jack is working at least as good as AT&T Phone Plan with 2 differences: First it displays only the calling number, but it cannot displayed on the TV screen. Second cost me $5 a month vs. $42 AT&T Phone Plan. Third I own my phone number through MagicJack and there is no need to worry for porting the number from an Internet provider to the other. The call block works, and if the number calls again rings only one and displayed Call Blocked. To increase the audio quality, the phone line from Magic Jack to the main phone set was kept as short as possible (3 feet). The home phone line was bypassed using 3 more wireless handsets that came with the phone kit.I used a very low noise 5.35V adapter in tandem with a PSF LC filter DC 0-12V 1 A. A power bank of (4X.NIMH 1.2V 5000mAh), and an output filter of (4 Electrolytic Cap. 2200 uF 50 V) from my tool Box. During any power outage I can make calls for at least 10 more hours. The porting didn’t affect the calls because I kept the phone connected with AT&T router, and used temporarily a $7 phone set for Magic Jack. I regret why I didn’t use Magic Jack at least 10 years ago.
