Dexter's Laboratory: Season 1 (Cartoon Network Hall of Fame)

We love Dexter’s Laboratory! My kids found an old DVD at their grandparents’ house and instantly became fans. I was thrilled to see it’s still available online so they could enjoy more episodes. It’s funny, clever, and lighthearted — one of those rare shows the whole family can watch together and actually laugh at. So glad we rediscovered this classic!

Creative, fun, hilarious, and definitely well animated with a unique style. Just stop watching once the voice of Dexter changes. After that it's no where near as good.

I personally have been looking for anything about Dexter's Laboratory for about a year now; it's my husband's favorite cartoon show. I jumped for joy when I saw that Amazon had it, and that it was so much CHEAPER than the other place I had finally found it at the week before. I bought it and it shipped quickly. You get what you pay for, a great deal! Picture is just fine to me, and when my husband opened it on Christmas Day he was so excited we watched the whole thing. This definitely takes you back to when cartoons were GOOD.

O.K., so there are no special features (unless you consider English subtitles a special feature) and the artwork on the packaging and the discs is in the "later Dexter" style ... but these are not problems, at least not for me. I have to admit that, unlike most if not all of the other reviewers, I am a "new" Dexter fan. Back when the show itself was new (and when it wasn't quite so new), I rarely watched it; in fact, I don't know if I ever watched an entire short! When Cartoon Network recently started showing the cartoons again, I found out what I'd been missing (and I'm still finding out)! And when I saw Season One on DVD, I knew I had to have it! Of course, Dexter is the main attraction of the shows (and deservedly so), but the shorts featuring the Justice Friends are pretty darn funny, too! I'm not particularly impressed with the Dial M For Monkey shorts (the best thing about those, or most of them, is getting to see the lovely Agent Honeydew --- growl-growl!), but they're all right. There are only a couple of Dexter shorts here that I don't particularly like. Although I really like the Justice Friends shorts, I think that it was a wise decision to ax the Justice Friends and Dial M For Monkey, and feature Dexter's Lab episodes exclusively in the later seasons' shows. I hope Cartoon Network puts out Season Two --- and the other seasons --- before TOO many more years pass!! (And I hope they also put out more Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy and Billy & Mandy!)

We love Dexter and enjoy the option of viewing when we want. No extra payment just enjoy it when you want. Great season delivered promptly.

This is a prime example of Cartoon Network when it was still 'cutting edge'. Dexter is a secret genius but no one knows it except his sister DeeDee, who doesn't care...and his rival Mandark, who does. The volume also includes the wonderful superhero parody The Justice Friends, and by itself is worth the price of admission! Christine Cavanaugh (Dexter's voice) passed away a few years ago, so we'll never see anything exactly like this again. But the show was a CN mainstay for seven years, and this demonstrates exactly why. If you have fond memories of the show, get it. If you somehow missed ever seeing it, get it!

Great item from a great seller!

There are a few copies of Dexter's Laboratory floating around out there that are Region 2 etc. If you're in North America this is the one you want as it is Region 1. It would be nice if more sellers would include this tidbit of info in product descriptions. It's just too bad that more seasons are not available in Region 1 side from season 1, which is the best season by far anyway.

Comprei o DVD Laboratório de Dexter principalmente pela nostalgia, já que é um clássico do Cartoon Network. A embalagem é bonita e o material aparenta estar bem conservado. A arte é fiel ao desenho original e agrada bastante quem é fã. Ainda não testei o DVD para avaliar imagem, som ou funcionamento, mas a princípio parece um ótimo item, especialmente para colecionadores e fãs do desenho. Assim que testar, pretendo atualizar a avaliação.
