Mrs. Spitzer's Garden: [Gift Edition]

Great for the classroom!

The book had a very special story line and was very colorful 😊 and eye catching in its illustrations.

Mrs. Spitzer's school principal gives her a packet of flower seeds at the beginning of the school year. As a teacher, Mrs. Spitzer planted and tended to the plants that bloomed as wonderful flowers. My granddaughter's Kindergarten teacher read this at the Kindergarten graduation while she and the students acted the story out in a sweet, simple style. The analogy, of course, is that the seeds were the students at the start of the year and the flowers were the same students at the end of the year after being cultivated, watered and nurtured. As my granddaughter entered First Grade on her sixth birthday I gave her this book as a birthday gift. She seemed surprised and happy to see it. I told her that she was now a new little seed for her new teacher. I'd never heard this story before but I loved it and would recommend it for kids as they begin school or anytime and for teachers and parents too.

Great for making connections!

I have really enjoyed using this as a gift for my student teachers when they are graduating. Spoiler: It's a very sweet story about how a teacher gets seeds from the principal at the beginning of the year and how she cares for them and that they all have different needs, until they are all a beautiful garden. It is a very sweet story. I think it can be read to students as well, but I do think it is more meaningful for an adult. Highly recommend this book.

Super great size for a teacher gift and the story is heartfelt, clever, and sweet!

Bought these as part of our end of the year gift for the boys teachers (preschool). Neither teacher had ever heard of this book and one of them had a Mom who owned a children's book store. They both loved the story line. When they read it to the class, the kiddos asked lots of questions. After they were done reading they explained that the flowers in the garden were actually kids that the teacher was teaching. The reaction from the kids was priceless! Such a special book to show teacher we as parents truly see what they do for our children.Wrote this review in exchange for nothing.
