Perfect for light weight road bike!
I looked a long time for a kickstand suitable for my Pinarello Dyodo. Nothing fit. This product is ingenious. Light weight, easy to pull out of a small frame bag, I had no problem adjusting the height, and no problem with bike resting still. I rubber banded the rear break lever but not sure that was even necessary. Worth every penny based on the design and the function. Sour grapes from people not happy with the price, or perhaps they have a bike one of the other types of kickstand will work. For a light weight road bike that has no other way to mount a kickstand i find nothing better on the market.

Does not work with carbon gravel touring bike setup.
I have a Trek Checkpoint SL5 carbon gravel bike that I have setup for touring. I'm looking for a stand solution and can't find a solution out there that doesn't clamp to the frame. I bought this thinking it would do until I can find a better solution.IT DOES NOT WORK WITH A LOADED BIKE.I only had about 1/3 of my gear and the device was not able to hold the bike up securely. Here are the issues I found:1) The 'extensions' are useless. I have to use the smallest extension piece by itself. The other piece that has the extendable inner piece is too long.2) The bike can be balanced but it is precarious. Any slope does NOT work.3) Only works on pavement. Dirt is a no go, gravel a no go. Must be hard pack or find a large flat rock.4) With a load, the part of the stand that goes on the crank would bend significantly.(minor) I had a cadence sensor on the left crank that I needed to remove to use this.Maybe this is made for a plain old bike only without a load, but then again, if there were gusty winds I would NOT trust it with my carbon steed.

Not ready for prime time
**Update - 9 Sept**Tons of duct tape later and it will hold on solid ground. The main body of the unit for the pedal has to be a more rigid material and with interior padding to ensure a snug fit. The plastic is too pliabe under weight and bends too much. A support bracket, a clamp or some type of clasp can added security when ready for use.I liked it in theory and was excited for it to work. Unfortunately, on a Cannondale HT1 it buckles under the weight of the bike. Even if it did work, I could see it for stationary use, but I don't see it as rigid as I would have liked to feel comfortable leaving it unattended. Good concept but I'll rely on more traditional hardware in this use case.

Light Weight and Functional With Limitations
I purchased the AMS kickstand with the intent of using it with both my 29er Plus (29 x 2.8" tires) and Fat Bike (26 x 4.5" tires). It didn't take long to determine that considering the weight of the Fat Bike and the deep sugar sand washes where it is ridden, the AMS kickstand isn't a viable solution. Subsequently, I purchased a Topeak Flashstand which works great with the Fat Bike, but is too bulky and heavy - it weights 3.5 times more than the AMS kickstand - for high speed, technical trail riding. However, the AMS kickstand has fantastic functionality for conventional mountain bikes, especially since it is so light and portable (yes, it does fit in a jersey back pocket). I ride in the Arizona high-scrub desert, which is dominated by rattlesnakes, huge cholla and nasty mesquite thickets. Finding a suitable tree or large rock to lean the bike against is a rare treat, even finding small rocks to build a stable pedal/crank platform isn't reliable. In such an environment, laying the bike on the ground exposes it to cholla balls and gritty sand. With a bit of work and forethought, the AMS kickstand creates a stable platform, even in moderate winds and soft, sloping ground. Just be sure to turn the front wheel to ensure that sufficient pressure is maintained on the kickstand to lock the crank in place. The photos show a worse case situation where the stand is set to maximum height and the foot is embedded in relatively deep gravelly sand with a 10-mph evening breeze kicking up. Yes, it's an overpriced piece of fragile plastic, but having a stable stand deployed within 20 seconds rather than combing the desert for suitable rocks (while annoying the ever present rattlesnakes) to construct a stand of questionable quality, is a simple luxury well worth the price.

Works as it says it will.
I use mine with my electric mountain bike and it works fine. You just have to make sure that you do it correctly so that the pedal doesn't keep turning which will make it fall. It is easy to do it right with a little thought.

Good but not very useful
I have an specialized levo comp E-Bike. This will fit on my bike, however It has to be extended to it's maximum length. So every time you stop you would have to pull this out and assemble it. Either way my Levo is around 46 pounds and as a result it has no hope of holding up the bike. I also challenge that it relies on the fact that the pedals will stay in a "down" position. but unless you have a BMX or something with pedal brakes they are going to roll backwards and the bike will fall. Neat idea and it's pretty decent plastic but it's just not useful.

Not for heavier mountain bikes
I really wanted this to work for my full suspension mountain bike because I hate the idea of laying the bike down all the time. This is great in concept, but was a little too short and did not fit the crank arms tightly enough for me to believe the bike would stay up on its own. I think this will work for bikes that are more lightweight and/or with smaller wheels than the 27.5" on the bike I tried. The item is lightweight and packs down to a compact size. My bike was just too heavy for this to work out.
