Skeptically and pleasantly surprised
I'll I've really only used Clean & Clear pimples products for pimples, and never thought too much about skin care other than washing my face twice a day and moisturizing every morning with a simple spf15 Neutrogena. However, recently I noticed this white, non painful pimple and bump that just wouldn't go away no matter what I used, stubbornly sticking around for about a month, to the point if people thinking I had a crumb on my face 😂. I finally came across this product after some browsing around and checking reviews. I rarely write reviews but I had to share the undeniable difference within 3 nights. The stubborn whitehead is gone. Blackheads/ clogged pores on my nose seem reduced, the ever-present milia on my chin are markedly reduced in appearance. I also had a huge pimple forming on the side of my face that seems to have gone through the whole pimple life cycle way faster since I started this regimen.1. Wash face2. Apply gray bottle liquid with cotton ball and let dry3. Apply white bottle gel with cotton or finger tips and let dry4. Wake up and wash face and dry, and stare at face and notice small positive changes 😆That being said, I did notice a couple of new pimples appear on my left cheek and forehead, but they seem to be under control and going through the pimple life cycle way faster. I don't know if they're caused by using the Paula's products or would have shown up anyway, but my hope is that with continued use, I'll see an overall drop in pimple frequency.I'll also add that the products will leave a slightly tacky/ sticky feel, but it doesn't bother me as I use it at night. Skin looks dewy after application. It gets dry in the morning after I wash it off, at which point I apply my usual moisturizer. So far, I'm happy with my investment. Will update in the near future.

Kinda freaky, but neat
Disclaimer: I’m a middle-aged guy who’s never really ever done much with facial stuff other than buying special facial soap. I barely know what I’m talking about and this is a strange new world for me.I’ve always had a problem with acne on my nose, it’s perpetually red to the point where many people ask me if I have a sunburn. That skin is oily to the point where in the evening I can “sop” it up with a tissue, and the pores have large, almost pinhead sized plugs in them. A few months ago I spontaneously decided to try to do something about it all. 20 years ago I remember getting a Biore strip sample, was looking into whether those still existed, and read that glycolic and salicylic acid might be better. The Paula’s Choice exfoliant Duo looked like it was worth a try.I first tried both on my arm, then a lower part of my neck- just to make sure they didn’t burn a hole through me or cause an adverse reaction. The 8% AHA gel (glycolic acid in white bottle), being a gel, is easy to put on with your bare hands. I wash my face and leave it on overnight. The first time I used it when I went to take a shower in the morning and touched my face I was startled because it didn’t feel like my face. Your skin feels completely replaced, I half jumped out of the shower to look in the mirror worried that something horrible may have transpired. But it was fine. I probably should have taken before and after pictures because I’m not totally sure what the visual difference is, but you can definitely feel it with your fingers. They mention discontinuing if it feels burning or uncomfortable, but I think you definitely feel something. After I shave I use an alum block, and it’s nothing like that; not stinging, but a little tingly. The 2% BHA liquid (salicylic acid in black bottle) is not a gel and benefits from an applicator of some sort- cotton balls would probably work if I had any but I ended up getting reusable LastObject cotton pads. Again, pre-wash face and then leave overnight. The pinhead sized pore plugs visibly shrank ~50% or so; you definitely still have pores but my nose looks eerily smooth and less like the surface of the moon. I definitely prefer this to that one Biore strip I tried; it’s a more subtle reduction in pore visibility as opposed to tearing the plugs out and leaving behind pore craters. They recommend using every day, but I’ve been using both once a week and been happy enough. Amongst the other things I’ve done, my skin has definitely improved. I visited my sister last week and she was annoyed that my skin looked better than hers- let’s just keep this our secret, shall we?

SO GOOD! Got rid of ingrown hair problem
I'm a 29 year old woman with pretty normal skin, but a few issues. Here are the skin issues I was trying to correct with these:-my forehead flakes really bad, regardless of time of year, face wash, or lotion. I would put on my makeup primer and it would draw so much attention to how flakey my skin looked.-my jawline/chin gets little black hairs (I'm a fair skinned, redhead with blonde body hair, so dark hairs can be spotted a mile away) and I guess because my skin was so congested, some of them would become ingrown hairs that basically looked like I had acne that would be there for a minimum of 6 weeks. I hated it. I pluck the spots that grow hair 4 or 5 times a week because they grow like weeds.SO! I originally saw the BHA liquid and tried that. Applied it every night before bed. It helped some, but not entirely. I moved on to The Ordinary's AHA/BHA (the red one) and was using that twice a week. It worked for sure, but I hated that I had to dedicate 7-10 minutes to it and I'd honestly forget to use it just due to laziness. So my skin issues would come back. It also would be sort of drying in places and sometimes burn.I noticed that Paula's Choice had the AHA gel with the liquid and decided to try the combo. I put on the BHA and let it dry for a few minutes and then the AHA and go to bed. IT WORKS SO WELL. I only do it twice a week. The second time I used it, I washed my face with an oil cleanser that goes on dry and I could feel the dead skin pill up around my jawline and forehead. This stuff is a miracle. And even the sample sizes last a good amount of time. When I was using just the BHA almost every night, the tiny bottle lasted over a month. The issues I was trying to correct are gone. I'm so thrilled and will buy the full versions of these products when I run out of what I have!
