Good for growing micro greens
Fits my trays perfectly, micro greens grow well in this medium. A perfect replacement for dirt. Only issue I find with jute grow mats vs dirt is I have to watch the water / moisture closely, the jute mats tend to dry out quickly destroying your crop within hours. This is not unique to this brand mat just an issue IMHO with with jute / hemp mats in general. The cost of this larger mat is very reasonable per tray based on the amount of usable / sellable micro greens I get per tray using this mat. Very happy and hope to be able to buy this product in the near future when I need more mats.

Don't wash them!
Just air them out somewhere for a few days. The smell is noticeable, but doesn't bother me much. Just cut to size and microgreen roots are happy👍

Work well but have an odd smell, like kerosene.
I don’t notice in the flavor of my micro greens but I have not grown them with anything else. They are easy to use and hold up, but I throw away after one batch because of leftover roots

They work, but smell.
They remind me of burlap sacks, and the gas/oil smell that comes with them. I tried washing them with Dawn dishsoap, then I washed them again, and then again.I gave them 3☆ still because they do work, and actually work well.I just cannot get over the smell.I am letting them air out to see what happens.

Great product
Holds water very well & evenly. The roots took root well & the radish microgreens are standing tall. I'll be buying these for my microgreens from now on.

Hoped to use in my HAMAMA trays but just doesn't retain the moisture like the original
I needed replacement seed mats for some HAMAMA green onion trays as HAMAMA makes it too difficult to just get replacement mats without also buying trays.The price point was great but was more high maintenance than my original mats. The plants rooted ok, but these mats dried out quickly so have to add more water more frequently than I would expect.Might just be that these mats don't jive with the HAMAMA trays and their raised water reservoir design but won't be buying them again for my trays. Hopefully, you will have better luck.
