Hayward SPX1068G3 Brush Replacement for Select Hayward Vacuum Cleaner Heads, Set of 3

After many years, the old brushes wore out. I liked the brand, but didn't want to pay $50+ for a new vac head. Glad the brushes are available.

09/2023 Update: 3 seasons later the brushes are still in really nice shape. Looks like this set will last a really long time just like the originals.10/2021 Update: No signs of unusual bristle loss/wear after a full season of use.OEM Hayward brush replacements. Worked perfectly on a 20yr old SP1068 vacuum head. Only thing that has changed is the brush color is now blue instead of clear. As for durability I'm not witnessing any of the issues yet that other reviewers are reporting. Used numerous times at season opening to clean the pool and the brushes still look great.

Our brush bristles had worn out from several years of use. I could have easily went out and purchased a new brush at around $50.00 to $60.00, but instead we decided to see if we could just replace the bristles. To my surprise, it was incredibly easy. These are the original brushes/bristles and they fit our cleaner perfect. Take a pair of needle nose pliers and grasp the old ones at the end and pull them out. These new ones slide into place, but may need a little tapping on the end to help them seat properly. Definitely recommend this product.

Go to YouTube and watch the video on Changing Brushes Hayward SuperVac. Walks you through the process. Have a can of WD-40 nearby as sliding out the old brushes can be a bit of a bear. But otherwise, pretty straight forward. Worth the time as the cost of a new SuperVac head is 2x the cost of the brushes. Fast delivery and low cost from Amazon. Arrived in 2 days using Prime. Worked like a charm. The hardest part was getting the old, rusted brushes out, but once that was accomplished, getting these in was a snap. What a difference, new brushes makes...The suction is much better and the vacuum is not getting stuck to the bottom any longer. Much improved.

These are plastic with a metal binder. They fit the more premium Hayward Vacuum Cleaner Heads. I had no problem removing the old ones and installing these. They were an exact fit., I had to disassemble head by unscrewing the hose fitting and then tap theold ones out the side with a screwdriver. Then you just slide the new ones in (tap with a small hammer if necessary. Originals rotted after a few years so I hope these will last a while longer.

The replacement brushes worked perfectly. But, I will say that you have to read the instructions. It looks like you could just slide out the old ones and slide in the new ones but you need to separate the top and the bottom of the head and then they slip right in. I always read instructions so once I saw that the old brushes didn't slip right out I read the correct procedure. If you don't follow the instructions you are in for a hard time.As far as how long they last, we will see what happens. I saved the package and will deal directly with Hayward if the bristles show signs of early failure. I prefer Hayward products whenever possible. I first bought a replacement vacuum head from another pool name and it was awful.

exact part for the Super Vac SP1068 vacuum head , i will update as time goes for durability ,only used for 5 months a year here in Montreal.

The brushes fit perfectly and tight, did not expect them to be blue but still look nice in head.Will have to wait and see how long they last, seem of good quality though.
