GET EVERYTHING YOU NEED FIRST
Listen, y’all. This is a typical coated wired shelf rack, but it was the first time I had ever installed anything like this. I’m gonna save y’all 3 separate trips to the hardware store.Make SURE YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING:1/4” hole boring bit1/2” hole boring bitBig level or a laser levelStud finderLook, if you’re like me and don’t know the first thing about toggles and bolts, find a YouTube vid and watch it! It’s super simple and works well.Stud finders are super helpful, but for the top bars I just used four drywall bolts and toggles and it’s holding up just fine.Do not skim over the instructions. Take your time to ensure you’re putting it together properly. Then once you’re done, you’ll feel like a beast!Pics show an 11’4” wide closet with two organizers set up to 5 feet wide. They both are set up a bit differently based on our preferences but I like how the shelves can be moved pretty easily.Time to accessorize :)

Do not buy if you want the 4ft version; Product pretty durable and works decently
In order to install the 4ft version, you are required to hacksaw a pole. I'm not sure why they don't just provide you the proper size if they advertise this product as able to fit a 4ft closet. I had to take the pole down to the hardware store and have them saw it for me. It was a somewhat complicated process to install. For screwing into the wall, you are supposed to use these large safety mechanisms to prevent the screws from becoming lose. However, in order to install these, you must drill holes in our wall greater than a half inch in diameter. I used just the large screws without the safety mechanisms and the product has worked find. I'm sure there are probably better ones out on the market that are simpler to install.

Great product
I'm very happy with this system. It was probably a 30 minute start to finish install for a 4 foot setup by an intermediate DIYer. The hardest part is you have to cut one of the header brackets in half to make it work for 4 foot installation option. I used a metal bandsaw we have at my work, my second option would have been an angle grinder with a cutoff blade or a chop saw. You could do it with a hacksaw, but it wouldn't be much fun.. Other than that it goes pretty easy and the instructions are really pretty good too. The unit works great for the closet and is very sturdy. Adjustable is way better than the fixed system in my opinion.

Looks great
We replaced a single-level closet rod with this system in our nursery. It took my husband about an hour to install from start to finish. He did purchase stronger drywall anchors and tried to fit some of the screws into the studs when possible. It looks really good, and I'm looking forward to setting up the closet with the baby's things soon.

Perfect with many configurations
Perfect for any reach in closet. Plenty of options for hanging and shelves. The only issue I had was that I was missing one of the 24” shelves that was supposed to come with it. The brackets were there, but the shelf was not. Since I was updating an older closet maid system I just cut one of the older shelves down to fit.

Buy this and you will like it
Nice organizer. I bought this one and a larger one to redo my 5'x12' walkin closet. I was able to install both units by myself (69 year old female). It too a couple of days simply because I kept taking breaks! Screwing the screws into the studs was a LOT of work. Or maybe it was because my cordless drill is a POS.I reccomend it to anybody.

Not very customizable
I have had luck with the closetmaid products where you just buy the individual pieces. My closet is 62" wide and the walls are plaster. So, you really need to secure all of this into studs and not use the other anchors. I had to cut the main track about an 1.5" and then also cut a bar and the rod for the clothing. I do like how it looks now. However, I am certain the Rubbermaid (used in other closets just after we installed this and was cheaper) would have been a better option. Those are highly customizable, and things can overlap. I circled the spots where we had to cut to get the most out of the system.

Extremely disappointed. Wish I’d bought Rubbermaid Configuration system.
Run straight to the Rubbermaid Closet Configurations. This product (Closetmaid) is such a disappointment. Had I not already passed the return deadline, this would be on its way back. I’ve installed at least a dozen of the Rubbermaid products, and the pictures made this product look the same. Don’t be fooled. The flexibility is non-exiistent. No telescoping rods, brackets are not consistent, The shelf units come with rubber tips to protect the user from rough edges - really??? The main anchoring bracket only has holes every 8”, so if your framing studs are not exactly 16”, you will miss the studs and need extra support. When the instructions reference a hacksaw, run for the hills. Like I said, buy Rubbermaid!

Incremental width
This can only be install to incremental widths of 4, 5, or 6 feet. My closet is 4.5 feet wide and I had to install it using the 4 foot configuration thereby losing half a foot of closet space
