First, this isn’t what I would call truly “clear”. It’s more of a translucent white. For sure you can see your cars paint color through it, but it will look washed is white, rather than being completely clear.I’ve had this on my car for about a month now, and I admit that my car door has some odd bends that make it tough...but I have had to fix a couple of those spots already, so I don’t have a ton of faith that it will stay stuck to the car for the long term.Application was a breeze. The car was already clean, so I did a quick wipe down of the application area and started working it along the door edge. Molding was very flexible and bent well for the odd edges. The backing on the tape came off well, allowing me to get it applied correctly without any second tries. In short, it worked as it should.It’s not that the product is bad and won’t do its job. It’s already saved me from a few door dings, so it does work, and it a worth every penny they charge you....but I wish I had spent more and gotten a higher quality product. I’m just not happy with the way it looks, and I don’t have faith that it will stay stuck for the long term.

I purchased this Yleternal Car Door Edge Guard material to protect the door edges of my new car from damage, and to protect nearby cars that might get hit by my door. The adhesion system, with a red adhesive cover strip than can be pulled off gradually as the Edge Guard is applied, seems to work well. However, I found that the plastic guard did not open wide enough to fit securely over the door edge, and parts of it gradually slipped off., giving a very uneven appearance. This is made more obvious because the adhesive is black, rather than clear, and while it is hidden behind the lip of the door when properly placed, when the guard slips off the black is very visible. On investigation, I found that the product worked fine on another car with relatively thin door edges (0.110 inch thick), but not on my car with heftier 0.150 inch thick edges. I suggest checking the thickness of your door edges where the sheet metal is folded over to see whether this guard will work for you. In particular, aluminum door panels are likely to be thicker than steel ones.

Item does not workIt was not large enough to go on door for a door guard, it would not stay on the door of my Dodge Grand Caravan. It is very, very small, width wise and just is not large enough to grip the lip of the door. There is so little tack inside to hold the door that this is a joke. It'll never go through a car wash. Total waste of money. Go to an auto parts store or Walmart where you can see what you're buying. Money wasted. Don't say you weren't warned. I don't know how anyone can honestly say they didn't get ripped off. Boo!

Bought this to apply to metal radiator covers to keep them from scratching the wood floors. Easy application and stays in place. Had some extra and used it along the rough edge of a plastic handle on a kayak. Thicker than it probably is meant for but managed to apply it successfully and it is staying in place. Would buy again if I needed something like this again.

While I give it 5 stars for each category, where it loses a bit of my support is because you can see the water/moisture under it because it’s clear. I had not considered that before purchasing. That takes away from its overall appearance. As far as a product, it’s great. For appearance, it fails because of the visibility of moisture under it — that never goes away. I bought a different opaque color and will be replacing it tonight.

A little to small of an edge. I had no trouble putting it on. Just remembre only peal the red tape as you push on the guard. Make sure the door edge is clean.

Was a bit of a chore to get on. I used it to protect the edge of an insect vent screen for an RV. Do yourself a favor and keep the unused part rolled up and tied as you installed. I didn't and once the remainder got twisted, the adhesive and tape began to separate from the trim and it was a real mess!

The product looks great and fairly easy to install initially. However, it melts from normal parking in the sun just after a few months and looks awful. The clear strip is no longer clear but more like cloudy yellow with some dark brown spot from the sun heat. I live in So Cal where it rarely gets over 100 degrees.
