Worked great on Vista 27N/Airxcel 48004
Our 4-year-old RV (bought used one year ago) developed a leak from the ceiling A/C area and upon removing the A/C unit it was obvious what the problem was (first picture). Probably due to side-to-side forces while driving and overlooked maintenance by the prior owner (hold-down bolts were not snug at two corners). The Steele gasket appears to be better quality than the original. Installation was exactly as expected; hardest part was the elbow grease required to remove the old gasket residue from the A/C unit's underside. The original supporting blocks at the rear of the A/C unit were very thin foam, but the supplied blocks from Steele seemed maybe too thick. I cut them down to about 2/3 thickness and attached them next to the old blocks (2nd picture). After tightening the mounting bolts, the unit seems well secured to the roof with no side-to-side flex. And the best part, of course: no more leak. This job is well within an average DIY-ers skillset. Does not require electrical or A/C knowledge beyond "disconnect the power" and "unplug this connector". Just a few basic tools (especially a paint scraper, a scrubber sponge, and mineral spirits) and a plan. Take pictures along the way to help putting things back together. Recommend work gloves for handling the A/C unit due to sharp corners (and some fiberglass possibly in the baffles of the main duct) and nitrile or similar for working with mineral spirits.Tip 1: mark the front of the main square shroud when you take it off of the ceiling of the RV (bit of tape or permanent marker on the underside). I put mine back on 180 degrees reversed the first time and the holes didn't line up.Tip 2: if your old gasket has the little white compression markers (right-angle bits of rubber/foam stuffed between the gasket and the A/C body), save them and re-use them in the same spots. They provide a guide for how far you have compressed the gasket as you tighten the corner bolts. Some A/C manufacturers specify a torque setting on the bolts; if yours does, use that instead. The Airxcel unit I have did not list any torque values in the manual.

Fixed my leak on the camper
Seemed like a great made product. Worked exactly like it claimed.

Great product.
I like this seal because it has no seams. Made from one piece of material.Very easy to install and it has not leaked.Very pleased with this product.

Thick solid one piece
The original seal on my was only five years old. It had glued seams in all four corners that had opened up from the rubber shrinking. My guess is that even if this Steele seal does shrink, the corners won't crack. This seal is very thick and dense. The first one purchased was a Camco which was very spongy AND had glued seams in all four corners. After seeing the seals side by side, there is no comparison. The Steele well worth the extra money.

A-1 product
This gasket even fit my 1997 camper van. It's spendy but well worth the money. The old one was the same kind and lasted almost 30 years. Think it would have lasted longer had it been retitind earlier.

As advertised
Appears good quality to bad you have to throw most if it away for the price

Worth the extra cost
Good material and a little thicker than brand X. The solid uncut seal means you have to remove AC wires but the seal will be better than those that have a slice for the wires. Also not bonded at the corners so seal is consistently the same density. Highly recommend!

Well worth the extra $$$$ - awesome seal
I was plagued by chronic AC leaks - didn't matter how much I tightened it, reseated or adjusted. This gasket is one piece and great quality. I intentionally waited a year to write this review - if you are going to go through all the trouble of changing your AC gasket, spend a few extra bucks and go for a good, high quality, gasket
