Simple works best
The Park N Place is simple and inexpensive - and that works best. The stop sign has very good color and contrast. Even when the battery runs out, I will be able to clearly see when I tap it, as the stop sign at the top of the pole clearly moves back several inches. I have not had the problem stated in some reviews of the Park N Place sliding around - it stays in place. I guess if you hit it very hard or overrun by more than a foot, it would tip over or be forced back, but you shouldn't be driving that fast in your garage! We recently got a minivan, which because of its length and our garage shelving has less than 1 foot of clearance from the front and rear bumpers. The Park N Place allows us to park accurately to within a few inches.I bought this item to replace a high-tech park assist laser. The laser was mounted to the ceiling and projected onto the dashboard when it sensed the vibrations of the opener, but I had all sorts of problems with its sensitivity, battery leads fraying, and short battery life. The Park N Place is a much simpler and effective solution.

NO NEED for a REAR BUMPER CHECK NOW.
This is a really neat, cute gismo that works well with a few modifications. I have a large 2 car garage with only one car in it, the rest is used for lawn stuff and storage since I have no basement and little room in the attic. There was generally no problem with the side room when parked. But even than on occasion I had to move my vehicle for extra door clearance. My main problem was my SUV is fairly long, which does not leave much room in the front and rear when parked. My main concern was the back since I have a automatic garage door. But since I got this set up, there is no need to walk back to make sure the garage door is going to close without hitting my vehicle. There where two things that had to be corrected on the Park N Place. One was where the antenna pole goes into the base. There fit was loose and the pole would lean to one side or another. I wrapped a piece of a paper hand towel around the lower part of the pole and shoved it into the hole. Just like magic the pole stood up straight and erect. " No Viagra Needed Here ". The other problem is the base is to light and tends to move when you bump the pole a little harder than a slight nudge. I pretty much cured that by placing three round cement sprinkler head rings over the pole and resting on the base. These rings weigh about a pound and 1/2 or so each, and can be bought for a $1 or $2 at Home Depot. Of course you can use anything heavy, like bricks or a cinder block. These rings just happen to look nice and neat. ( Check out my photo under customer images on the product page )After the adjustments that I made this thing works great. I would have given this 5 stars if it was not for these two problems. When driving into the garage I now aim my approach to the pole with the window washer squirter on the hood, for pin point accuracy. The light works with the slightest touch, and I can see it day and night. My wife thinks it's the cutest thing in the garage, and it IS if she says so. Funny; I always thought my generator was the cutest, oh well.

As advertised
I've bought this product for my house and for my parents house. Works as advertised, it stable, durable, easy to assemble (my 14 year old kid put together the one for my parents in 2 minutes). The base does not slide too easily and the lights work when you touch the stand as it should. I've had the one in my house for many years and haven't had to replace anything.

Cheap and works as advertised....
Like my review title says, what more can you ask for? Cheap item that works exactly as advertised? Well...just buy it if you need it.No need to hang those tennis balls from the roof.Pros:1) Reliable2) Durable3) It just plain works.Cons:1) The base connects with two poles with the alert plate/brains on the top pole. The connector for the two poles are not as tight/sturdy as I would like it to be designed.2) I wish the lights blink a little slower when hit and also they put in a few more LED lights to make it more visible in strong light. Blinking and lights up at a slower/longer user controllable interval should help legibility.

Therefore I consider it to be overpriced and would not recommend it.
The one I bought was defective. There are no flashing lights when you bump the sign (yes, I checked the battery, and it was fine). It still functions OK as a parking aid, but not as advertised. Therefore I consider it to be overpriced and would not recommend it.
