Life changing
As a Jesus follower, my faith seemed dry or just 2 dimensional. As the fault is never God, it was in me. Understanding better who I am in relation to God and how I allowed societal pressures influence me in negative ways has allowed me to be more intentional and become closer to God. My life has less generalized anxiety, I am more able to love others, and helps me accept love from Jesus and other human beings. I am going to read it at least once a year and have gifted it to others.

All believers need to understand issues related to humility and pride
Wayne Mack has written on a topic that all of us need to be aware of.I became more strongly aware of my pridefulness/lack of humility in the past few years. I began to get very impatient with others concerning doctrinal issues, and treated them with aggressive rudeness as a result. While I believe my position is correct on the topics we discussed, I don't think my attitude was. One speaker that I respect said that your teaching can be 100% correct, but 0% effective due to your attitude and approach. In some cases, my attitude and approach was way off. This book would help a person assess their lack of humility (pride) and understand the steps to take to deal with it. I think that pride is so embedded within us, that it takes constant review to keep these principles in mind, though. As I write this review, I should probably review the book again. :)

Essential to read
The best and only good book on humility. I've searched on Amazon for a long time before I found this book. The author is a pastorin a church. He really explores humility and pride in depth. He's very thorough. Examples of pride: a violent, argumentative, or critical person. He identifies ways you can be prideful that I've never thought of, and then presents ways you can develop humility in yourself.Important that every Christian read and apply this book. The book is just that good.

My I humbly state...
I appreciate the writing of Wayne Mack. He has affected my counseling ministry in a wonderful way. He has a couple books on Counseling Homework that allow the counseling process expend beyond the time together. This book follows well in the "Mack" tradition. He actually believes in what he writes and from what I have been able to glean from his life he lives it too.

Desperately needed for today!
Pride is encouraged in every arena these days with the understanding that self-esteem must be encouraged. Pride is disdained in others, but easily overlooked in ourselves. Humility, on the other hand, is admired in others, but frequently avoided in our own lives. Wayne Mack takes the reader on a journey of Biblical truth during which he highlights the pitfalls and consequences of pride from God's perspective. He then encourages believers, in a practical way, to actively pursue humility before the Lord as a solution.

TRUE HUMILITY
Wonderful, Wonderful book and great insight into the ""what and why" of true humility. It was recommended as part of a Bible Study I am participating in this year. It should be a part of a Christian's library.Wayne Mach is a fantastic author and have read his "It's Not Fair" and very helpful with his insight into a common feeling we all have at times that something is "not fair".

Some good points
Another be a better Christian "how-to" book, chock full of quotes from Reformed thinkers along with a good dose of teaching unrelated to humility but rather, about predestination and reprobation, all peaking around page 106. Overcomplicated instruction on pursuing humility framed in the usual insinuation that Reformed (Calvinist) theology is the "true gospel". I read my copy with a highlighter in hand so I could have a good visual on the number of Calvinist ideas that peppered the text.

Great book.
I thought this book was very good. The author breaks down humility and pride into their different aspects and looks at each. There are numerous scripture passages referenced, and recommendations from the author as to biographies to read of Christians who struggled with or displayed humility. There are also numerous methods of application addressed to work on increasing humility in your heart. I worked through this book slowly with my Bible, reading every scripture passage as cited, and found it it be a very helpful resource that will stay in my library.
