Fits my kamado joe classic original 1 series perfectly and, I grill 4-5 times a week
Works great some smallish pieces get threw it's all good but built well middle part only lays inside and doesn't clip or connect anywhere just has two sorta grooves it fits in and it's not super stable. But as for what it is advertising it's all true sure as s**t makes clean up easier and it's as described saved a lot of wood and lump charcoal using this when I want much less food then 3lb of steaks and maybe go for just a steak singular lol I'd like to add to this that I have had it now 3 months it makes this weird tink sound whenever it's not heated I mean even 4 days after I used the grill it tinks just by sitting there if you get real close to the grill you can hear it from the outside and if you pull it out ohh yes you can hear it loud and clear, its possible it warped a Bit when I placed it ontop of some small bits of charcoal I didnt clean but I'm thinking it was just welded together and the overall tension makes it tink a bit as it keeps shifting back and forth when it's cold. But that's literally not a problem..... and if it warm out 65+ degrees it doesnt seem to do it at all. So I'm guessing some weird tension not a complaint just an observation. Totally happy with the product if I cleaned it now it would still look like it's new it's been literally just sitting in my grill and never been cleaned but when I wipe it with my gloves on it's perfectly clean shinny underneath the ashes I assume that's how it would all over with a bit of wiping ( elbow grease). I like it 5*( stars ) I will buy another one if I mess this one up and let it sit out and rust or something dumb but as it goes it's in great condition it is well protected from moisture I'm sure that's a big part. But as I see it this is a once in my life purchase and will be around probably after even my grill cracks and breaks

Works perfectly in a KJ Classic II
The standard Kamado Joe firebox is not bad at all. At the bottom of the firebox is a circular cast iron plate that has a lot of holes drilled in it. Ash from the fire drops through these holes into a removable ash container beneath the plate. After a cook, when things have cooled off, you just stir the remaining cold coals around to let the ash dust fall off and then try to push as much ash dust as you can through the holes in bottom plate. Lots of times, small pieces of coal get caught in the holes and must be removed because the plate holes also act as an air intake for the fire. The Lump Charcoal Fire Basket with Divider really simplifies the process. I first removed all the charcoal from the firebox and then took the opportunity to give it a cleaning. Then I pried up the cast iron plate and put it in storage. The fire basket fits perfectly in the firebox and the divider makes the Divide and Conquer 2-zone cooking grill system even more efficient because all the charcoal is contained on one side of the pit. It seems easier to get the coals lit because there's a lot more air circulation due to the design of the basket. It may also reduce charcoal usage through more efficient combustion, but I can't say for sure. It just seems like it from the couple of cooks I've done with it.When the coals are cool, I take out the basket and shake it over my ash bucket which, coincidentally, is a perfect fit. Depending on what I used for fuel during the cook, there may be a dusting of ash left on the ceramic sides of the firebox. If it's excessive, I just take a soft brush and sweep the dust down into the removable ash collector. Then the basket goes back into the firebox and is ready to go for the next cook. The whole process takes much less than two minutes. The Lump Charcoal Fire Basket with Divider feels heavy duty and looks to be very well made. It makes the Kamado Joe even more of a pleasure to cook on and I'm happy I bought it. I expect to get years of use out of it.

almost perfect - needed a mod to fit kj2
very sturdy, thick basket. I have a KJ2 classic, and it does NOT fit as original. The 2 handles that lift up will block the deflector shields from sitting flush. I used a hacksaw and a little elbow grease to cut them off, and it now fits perfectly in the base of the KJ2 and the shield and remainder of the divide and conquer system can fit in the grill as intended. for the price I'd do it again and feel the basket should be standard with a kamado purchase (i believe they are in the kj3)

Very useful, but with a word of caution
No question that it makes cleaning out the residual charcoal a lot easier… It also improves the airflow around the charcoal so that it burns hotter… a lot hotter… A word of caution… If you have a wood grill stand for your BigGreenEgg, don’t remove the iron grid that normally holds the charcoal. Using the basket alone will generate so much heat that the bottom of the BGE will get hot enough for the wood to catch fire.. even with an air gap.I rebuilt the stand and added a welders mat to hopefully protect from a reoccurrence.

This makes cleaning the ash out of my BGE so much easier.
Mydracas Lump Charcoal Fire Basket with Divider XL Big Green Egg. Well made and fits my XL BGE perfectly. So nice to get rid of the excess ash and small charcoal pieces, which blocks airflow, before every cook. The divider is a little funky. It's two pieces and I can't figure out what purpose that serves. Not a big deal. I just used my compression lug crimper and made it a one piece divider. I actually like the Kickash design and quality a little better, but it wasn't worth the $60 difference in price to me. I've only had this a short time, but I'm happy with it.

Well made and works great.
I ordered this Stainless Steel basket so I could keep the charcoal on one side of my Big Green Egg while using indirect heat on the opposite side and it does exactly that. It is well designed and manufactured of Stainless Steel that I feel will last for many years. When I saw that it was made by a small, independently owned company, I was convinced that it would prove to be what I wanted and was proved correct as soon as I took it out of it's box. It fit's in the bottom of my Large Size B.G.E. and has already produced some fabulously tender Pork Steaks. Do not hesitate to purchase on of these American made baskets.
