Mama Bears Mysore Sandalwood Fragrance Shaving Soap

I had been looking for good sandalwood shaving products, and after being sorely disappointed by the lack of a good sandalwood scent in a highly-touted aftershave balm from one of the big names in the business, I got this product.I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am with it. While it doesn't smell as strongly in the container as I might have hoped (and why would it? It's a hard soap), it does smell EXACTLY as it should. It lathers magnificently, and persists throughout the shave. It felt great on my skin, and left it smelling fantastic (it even improved both the scent and persistence of the aftershave balm noted above).The only potential issue is that my face is somewhat dried-out afterword--but that happens to me with ANY soap, even Proraso's Ultra Sensitive Skin product, so that can't really be a complaint about this product in particular.

My main complaint is that the lather doesn't last. I shave at the sink after showering. My routine is to whip up the lather in a bowl, re-wet my face, apply John Allan's Slick Water (fantastic product BTW), then apply the lather. However, I have found that in the 30 seconds or so between whipping and applying, 3/4 of the lather has disappeared. Plus, what I have managed to get onto my face dries pretty quickly. The shave is okay, nonetheless, but I don't think I'll be purchasing this again. Better options out there.

I recently began learning the art of using a straight razor. The learning curve included use of good quality glycerin based shaving soap. This soap is great and smells good too. I cut off using the straight razor but learned the value of the soap. I will purchase this product again. Thanks

I absolutely love their "Dragon's Blood" scent and wanted to try a more tradition scent. The Sandalwood didn't let me down! It completely filled my bathroom with a great fragrance whilst I shaved, but it didn't linger on my skin or interfere with my normal aftershave or cologne scents. Most importantly it gives a great, non irritating shave every time. Great product!

I love MamaBears shave soaps...they always lather well, smell great, and lead to a great shave. I use both a Straight Razor and a Safety Razor. High quality soaps...this sandlewood smells amazing, but it's a very mild scent.

i truly appreciate the art of mama bear soaps. my husband and i wet shave and honestly it's the only soap he will use anymore! i got a sandalwood rose sample size and LOVE the way it smells KUDOS to mama bear!!

The soap stinks and makes us sneeze. Works okay as shave soap

This soap does lather up well but better under a boar brush than a badger brush. Some shaving creams arebetter yet still, which is why I give this product four stars instead of five.
