The Good Life Board Game - Family Games for Adults and Kids Suitable from +7 Years

I read about this board game in the Sunday Times. I had been looking for something to send to my two grandchildren age 11 and 8 who live 300 miles away, something entertaining during the lockdown. Having read many excellent reviews, I placed my order and it arrived at their address 3 days later. To say it has been a huge success is an understatement, they are both very competitive and my son sent me a text to tell me that there was much hilarity and giggling coming from the dining room. They have acquired an allotment this year so this has made the Good Life game even more enjoyable. Obviously, I haven’t seen the game personally but I’m still receiving photos from my grandson while they play, it looks colourful, busy and robust, they love the playing pieces.He tells me he keeps missing his turn because of the Green Finger cards!In short, they love it, they play multiple games a day which makes life a bit easier for their busy parents working from home.When the lockdown is over and we can travel again, I’m looking forward to joining them in a game.

Fascinates 10 year olds, as well as the adults playing with them.This a repeat purchase, I'd bought one at a Christmas fair, so ordered another one for nieces.A fun great game for the family.the more you play it the more you develop tactics.Quite nice different outcomes each time you play, with amusing and thought provoking facts.The playing pieces are lovely, (love the baby wheelbarrows!) as is the board, and the whole concept is both fun and educational.One small thing is that the wheelbarrows sometimes fall over.Definitely something as a Christmas present, or to play around Christmas.Gets them away from their 'screens.'!

This was meant as a Christmas present for my dad, (into 'grow your own' etc) but my kids already opened it. I'm not a great fan of board games ..think Monopoly, but nobody ended up getting grumpy when they played the game. Lovely little playing pieces, mostly made of wood. Beware, children need to be able to read the question cards. (although I read them out for the youngest- aged 6).I see Prince Charles has championed the game. (He has a quote on the back of the box). Anyway, much better than I was expecting - I think I'm a convert to the weird and wonderful world of Christmas board games. lol.

A fun, easy and enjoyable game for the whole family. Not only is this game entertaining it also educates players on agriculture and the environment.

I bought this to play with my Nephews and I must say it's fantastic! I've only just left it with them the other day and I've already heard they've played it again and again. I can absolutely recommend this to all families. It's a lovely game to play together and also has a nice educational theme to it. It's very well done though and the learning about self-sufficiency etc is not something that seems shoehorned in as some children's game educational elements are.

I bought this game for us to play at Christmas, all adults playing, no children! Some for very upset when they had a pig taken in a wheelbarrow lol. This is a good game and very well made, the pigs and chickens are painted wood but the wheelbarrows are very small and plastic....they do however hold either 1 pig or two hens!A really great family game , I would say suitable to play with 6 years plus with help.Buy it!!!!!!

A fun game bought for my allotementing mad other half.Fiddly little pieces but quiet enjoyable, however (note to the makers) the instructions aren’t really that good and there are a few grey areas in the rules! Put it right and it’d be a real winner, 7/10.

This game was fun to play, quick to learn rules and educational too.
