This works great on Flugelhorns!
It is kind of hard to find a cleaning tool to get the crud out of a large instrument like a flugelhorn, but this product does the trick. It is a good idea to wet the brushes with water and use a generous about of dishwashing liquid so the attached line does not break off with the brush part stuck inside the tubing of the horn. If this is done correctly, the cleaning tool works just fine and you can remove all the spit and old oil and grease from the entire horn. Of course, rinse the horn out completely to get the soap out of the horn and let dry over night. There is a marked improvement in the playing of the horn and the water keys work better during regular playing.

Very effective and easy to use
This trombone cleaner is very well made and gets the job done. As described, it does indeed fit all the way through the outer slide. Don't do what I did the first time I used. I put the brush in first. That didn't work at all. Then until I realized that other end with the ball goes in first. Then it works perfectly!

HW Products UBST snake/ brush set for Trumpet
As stated in my review of the French Horn brush set back in March, this tool in my opinion is the best brasswind cleaner on the market. Now after 6 months of use for both my trumpet and flugelhorn, I'm still giving 5 stars for this product. Yes you have to assist the snake through the valve body, but the green stuff and deposits do come loose. I did not see the flugelhorn snake offered when I bought the product for my trumpet, so I purchased the French Horn brush set for my flugelhorn...works great, very sturdy. Clean the brushes with soapy water after running them through your horns and let them dry for several days before using them again or you may have unpleasant odors coming from the brushes.

Nearly Perfect
I am an advanced high school trombonist, and after buying a beautiful, barely-used Blessing B-88 (with closed wrap F-attachment) I knew I needed a new brush to keep it clean. My old brush, with an unprotected(!) metal spring core, couldn't even attempt to navigate the tighter turns of my F-attachment.Let's start with the good: this brush easily cleaned the entire length of the inner, outer, and main tuning slides (yes, it's long enough to pass through the bow), and it passed straight through the closed rotary valve (not through the F-attachment) like it wasn't even there. It got through the tuning slide of the F-attachment and the short half of the attachment with only a little difficulty, but nothing to complain about. In addition, possibly best of all, the brush is very absorbent, so after you've cleaned your trombone and dried the brush (I used a microfiber towel) you can (slowly) pass the brush through again to get the inner tubes dry as a bone.I only have a couple of problems. As the brush passed through the tight bend of the F-attachment tuning slide and the open rotary valve (through the F-attachment), the resistance it put up seemed to untwist the leading end of the brush (like a can of Pillsbury dough). I'll update this if the problem gets worse, but I don't think that it will. In addition, it couldn't quite get the first length of the inner slide (the dirtiest spot, right where your mouth is) clean because the brush part is too soft, but it did better than my old brush. These are relatively minor problems, though; my main issue is that the long half of my F-attachment had one too many tight turns for the brush. If you go in from the screw, the core isn't firm enough to get through the last bend; if you go in from the attachment, it isn't flexible enough to make the turn in the valve. I bent the core trying to get it through (FYI, even when it's bent halfway along the length it works great everywhere else), but I simply couldn't get the core through the long half of my attachment. All in all, though, this is the best brush I have seen on the market. It is flawless if you have a straight trombone or an open wrap attachment, and it does far better on a closed wrap than any metal spring core brush could (at least it can clean the short half!).

Good product but durability is an issue
The long lactic line broke when pulling through my flugelhorn. I’ll buy another and try to be more gentle

Best trombone cleaning product ever!
The other reviewers have it right - I just needed to add my 2¢ worth. This setup is a huge improvement over the typical trombone "snake" (bristle brush at each end of a coiled wire). For one thing, the plastic will do no harm to the innards of the instrument (no more scratches!). And you can run the entire brush system through an F-attachment, right through the rotary valve is if it weren't there. Take off the tuning slide crook, and you can clean the entire horn. Then wipe off the gentle, soft brush with a towel - and run it through a second time. Lickety-split, and you're done. Finish off the job, if you want, with a cleaning rod and cloth - though you may not need it! I keep one of these in each trombone case! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Its different but very useful.
I got back into playing bass trombone and was used to the standard stainless steel spring snake. I saw this and decided to try it out. This guy is kinda neat. The "line" part is flat plastic with a little hard plastic tip to assist getting through. The brush end is rather large (long) as compared to your standard "snake" brush and its MUCH longer. One thing that I kinda didn't like about it is that the brush isn't very aggressive. This one is fairly soft and you may need a couple of passes as compared to a regular snake. Eh...not a real big deal I suppose. One thing I did like is that It went easily through the rotor system on a bass trombone...EASILY! So if you don't feel like taking the rotors out you can get this guy through.Even with the lack of aggressive brush this is still a 5 star.

Great way to clean/dry your trombone
I kept trying to find some way to clean my slide without deconstructing it. None of the previous devices I purchased reached all of the way around and back out the slide. All of the previous devices used a plastic bristled brush are th ends, and steel coil connecting, less than adequate. This device really worked, but gets very wet if used right after playing. My suggestion is to purchase at least 2 so that you will have a dry one to use each time.

Brilliant
Tuba: Tried the usual brushes and snakes before and not doing the job properly. I thought these were dear but the cheap ones just don't clean big instruments easily or properly.Glad I read reviews saying to pull it through. Fed it in lead pipe with valve one it it came out the bottom. I wet the brush and pulled it through and it gave it a proper clean. Used the wands on the inside of valve casings, good firm stalk with firm but soft brush. I got some lint free cloths on Amazon and followed through with those and did the valves and valve holes with those cloths too. Saved me putting it all in the bath yet again and allows me to keep on top of things more easily.

Best snake for everyday use
Best “snake” cleaner I’ve seen for trombone. Much safer than the old spring steel/bristle combos on the inner slide and dries out the slide crook - throw one in every case and use it after every session just like the woodwind players.

Se queda corto para el precio que tiene
Si tuviese un alambre flexible y no una tira endeble y la superficie que limpia fuese mas duro seria ideal
