Qixels Theme Refill Pack - Monsters

Whoever came up with Qixels is a genius, as the tiny blocks remind kids of the ever popular Minecraft, and put a spin on fusion beans such as Perler. However, whoever does the marketing material for Qixels is a liar. The packaging material says "No mess". Really? Lies I tell ya. I have Qixels all over my house and water sprayed all over my table.All kidding aside, this is a great craft for children, and older children. Our 7 year old loves them, and my husband loves to create little characters with him. The little weapons and stands that come in these kits are great too.I do wish it came with a bunch of extra pieces, so you could collect colors and make stuff on your own. You just don't get enough pieces in the kits. And that seems silly when you note the price of these kits.We'd recommend the Turbo Dryer kit to help contain the mess a bit.

This is a fun new craft-type toy. If you are familiar with Perler beads, these are very similar except you fuse the beads with water instead of heat. This is a good add-on set, with 4 Monster templates, the beads to complete the designs and a small spritzer to wet them. ** You can complete the craft with this set, do not need to purchase the starter kit ** They take a while to dry, and are very sticky while they cute, but are sturdy after they're done. Would be nice if the set came with more than one display stand, I suppose that's my only "con." and reason for 4 vs 5 stars. My 6 year old son can complete these successfully on his own.

Kids do love these, they are simple and can easily be done by any kid, then magically after spraying with water they all stick together. We did a lot of these back when they came out, but spending 40 bucks for 4 little figures got old pretty quick. Go spend 40 bucks on a lego project, and while it’s still hard to swallow the price for what you know it cost to produce, at least you feel like you got something for the money.

First review about these after 5 sets and 2 refills. It's a good toy, great if your kid likes to do his/her own creations. Since it's consumable, i do wish the refills were cheaper. -1 Star for value.

best craft ever! My kids play with these like toys! Easy to use. 12 and 6 yr old create so many things. Go online and type in pixel Mario or any other character or object and and you can find a grid to go off! So cool. Got my kids off video games with these. I'm bummed because you cannot just buy Refil pack with all of the colors. You have to buy the kits.. Not cool. So I keep buying the Creator because it has all of the colors.

Wish these could be used interchangeably with 3D sets and build. Didn't realize this at the time of purchase.

My 7 year old loves qixels. He has no problem following the directions. This was good present for Christmas. You can make 6-8 pixels with the pack.
