Methylation Madness: Insight into Biochemical and Personal Lives of Hypermethylators

I was disappointed - interesting story, but no help for you
On the one hand, it's a pretty inspiring account of how a woman (Michelle Anglisano) with very severe mental and physical symptoms from MTHFR, found a naturopath who could help her (Dr. Dulin), and was lifted out of sheer hell into a fairly normal life. On the other hand, if you're looking for a medical self-help book to understand MTHFR and how to treat it, you really won't find that here. I'm sure the authors wanted to provide that kind of help, and there are a lot of explanations of aspects of the biology and the disease, but they just don't seem able to present what you need to know in a way you can run with it. Too bad really; it's clear that a lot of effort went into the book. But if you really need to help yourself treat your MTHFR genetics, try "MTHFR Gene Therapy Demystified" by Dr. Robin Terranella...it serves the purpose much better.

A MUST READ if you are struggling with MTHFR Issues
I am so happy that I found Michelle Anglisano on-line one late night surfing the internet... I have struggled for years with EXACTLY what this book talks about.. I have seen countless Doctors with NO answers. After reading this book this week, I wanted to stand on the roof top and scream with happiness that I finally found a Doctor that will understand my odd symptoms. I could hardly put the book down, I felt in several of the chapters they were discussing my symptoms personally...I had my first telephone consultation with Dr. Terence Dulin and will move forward with tests this week. For the first time in years, I finally feel there is hope to my odd symptoms and the countless ER visits and Dr. Visits. My Mayo Clinic Doctor was close to figuring me out, but with Dr Dulin's help I think between the two of them I am seeing a light at the end of this long difficult journey.

The answer and explanation to common ailments by a heretofore misdiagnosed condition
Bravo!!! Finally THE book that will explain this weird condition whereby cells cannot process sulfur with elimination but rather stores them causing all types of problematic conditions. For years my wife suffered with joint soreness to the point of near inability, tiredness, fatigue, skin problems to mention just a few. She had been examined by a host of conventional practitioners and received numerous diagnoses and their concomitant treatments, none of which worked to any significant degree of satisfaction. I had been seeing Dr. Dulin and so had her go through a thorough blood analysis with him. The first visit and review of her blood work showed the sulfur problem which Doc was able to explain and provide treatment. This has been described and clearly explained in his book in practical everyday laymen’s language. If you or anyone you know reports these symptoms as outlined by a number of case examples, I encourage purchasing the book and better yet, making an appointment with the man himself.

A very special book!
Excellent information, and most importantly, understandable! The chemistry of the body is extreeeeemely complicated, but Dr Dulin’s talent to explain these complex issues simply are enlightening. You couldn’t have a better professor. (Very talented man.) The co-writer, Michelle Anglisano, has such a desire to help others. She uses her professional abilities and personal experiences in the book. After reading this page turner, you’ll get a much deeper understanding of how your body actually works, how you can learn to improve your health at the root cause. I see how understanding your biochemistry would, not only help a very ill person, but help a person with average health get to good health, and a person in good health to get to great health. This won’t be accomplished in a couple weeks, but, like learning a skill, it'll take dedication to make these life-changing changes work for you. Good stuff!

Purpose is Unclear
The way this book is written makes me a bit distrustful of the sources. Was hoping to gain some more insight into my own gene mutation, but I only found this book confusing.

Chomping at the bit to read htis
Not only is this book a revelation about how faulty biochemistry can bring one all sort of reactions that people think are psychological, but it is also possible to use food and other elements to change or at lest damp down responses. The book takes the form of essays by Dr. Dulin and descriptions of their conditions and how they feel, by people who are high methylators. The reactions can be quite quirky and enormous in scope, and it must be a revelation for some people to learn that it is their body chemistry that it making them crazy, and that there are solutions at hand. Although Methylation is new subject for the public, Dr. Dulin has been working with it for more than 30 years. This is an important reference book, and a great read. You could help someone with this information..
