Identical line drawing , width variation " semiflex/soft flex" as my Pilot Falcon
Identical line drawing , width variation " semiflex/soft flex" as my Pilot Falcon ( resin body) ,.....but with a better ink flow and a little more control on wetness of line when using the hard/soft settings. Probably not a lot of usefulness to the average writer but I sketch as much as I write and I like the control of wetness/ink flow for my shading & line drawing. Noodler's Bulletproof Black ran dry for me and railroaded in both the Justus 95 and Falcon pens if used for a couple of days . I'm currently using Platinum Carbon Black ink in the Justus 95 with excellent results . No problems in pen and nice fat wet lines when I adjust softness of Justus 95 nib and press down; with no railroading at any adjustment setting or pressure applied at anytime. I had been having to add tiny amounts of dishwashing soap to the Noodler's Bulletproof Black to get the smooth flow of ink I wanted . That worked fine, but the Carbon Black is great straight out of the bottle. The Justus 95 fine nib is like my Falcon fine and produces a good clean line. If you're going to draw I would get the fine nib as when you adjust the nib to "soft" it will put out more ink and a little heavier line ( not much change in line variation...just more ink and a little little wider line depending on paper and how much feathering the paper does and ink used It's hard to describe but I can see a difference in appearance of line with change in setting. The line is richer in saturation and color on soft setting. When you press down in both hard or soft settings you can pretty much get same line size variations, but again the soft setting puts more ink to the paper. On the hard setting I can get more control on keeping the line small and light of ink when I'm shading in pen and ink drawings. Something my Pilot Falcon could do, but only with care .And unless I slowed down a lot I couldn't get a thick wet line either with the Falcon unless I really changed my pace of drawing. With the Justus 95 and the right ink you can set on soft and work at any speed , any line pressure and the ink flows nonstop. I'm using this pen for writing, pen and ink and watercolor outlining. My Pilot Falcon has been retired to serve as my secondary pen with Iroshizuku Kon-Peki ink ( which flows wonderfully) and makes a great general purpose pen/ink combination.Nice feeling pen and a good size. I tend not to like the big fat pens and I find the Pilot pens to run more modestly/subdued in their size and feel. I have the barleycorn pattern and it's a nice resin bodied pen. Writes much smoother than my Falcon (which has a fine nib-so scratchy) and much much smoother than my other carry the Lamy Safari ( European fine , so bigger than Japanese fine nib). I also have carried a modified Jinhao 450 with a cartoonist Zebra G-Nib titanium. I have stopped carrying that pen as the point was really difficult to control on textured paper and ink flow was a little temperamental and the pen tended to dry out if not used very very frequently. . The Justus 95 just performs more consistently in applying ink and controlling the nib, plus you can write normally with it while the speciality nibs are harder/impossible to write with.Summary: You can get same results with Pilot Falcon as this pen....but you'll have to watch your pace and control more. The adjustment of Justus 95 nib allows a slight improvement in consistency of ink flow and line wetness. Worth it to me, but maybe not to others.I'm a big Noodler's fan and love all their inks......didn't want to end with review with the misperceptions that I'm against Noodler's Bulletproof Black which I love and in my Noodler's Ahab pen works great. It's just that this pen needs a little slippier ink and I'm not a fan of diluting inks with water to get better flow as I can't get the depth of color I wanted in a washed out inkEdit: May 2024. The Justus 95 is still my favorite pen. A great everyday carry and general-purpose pen. I'm still using Carbon Black ink even after trying a variety of waterproof archival inks over the years. I've stored away almost all my pens now except this pen and surprisingly my Pilot Plumix Fountain Pens, which are very very inexpensive pens with an italics nib and just a great writer.I think Pilot has discontinued the Plumix as I see none available on Amazon. But I've started to grind my own italics nibs so I can work around that. If you see any Plumix and like writing, buy the Plumix for $7 bucks and enjoy getting the hang of an italics nib. I'm using Iroshizuku Ink in the Plumix pens.

Excellent pen for fountain pen enthusiasts
The price is a little steep but I have other gold nib fountain pen 742, 912 vintage, aurora. I like the flex from the FA nibs NOTE Falcon and FA are NOT the same nib. The Justus does not allow softeners ro the point of "Modern Flex", however it can be adjusted to the ink, paper and general wring conditions. It is definitely not an entry level pen, however, those that appreciate pens suchas/similar to the ones mentioned above will quickly put this into daily rotation, particularly if you take notes sitting down, standing up or even sketching.

Just buy it!
Great pen. the con70 hold alot of ink Nib smooth out of the box. But that has been my general experience with pilots at all price points. The hard soft setting is interesting.

Great Nib
Love the adjustable nib. Very great response out of the nib, doesn't feel as scratchy as you would expect out of a Japanese nib. Use with iroshizaku ink.

Additional cost may apply if you are in Canada
A great product and a great communicator of the seller; however, the Canadian boarder service charged an additional $50 for this item during shipping. Just be aware.
