Perfect for my needs!!!!
I pretty much never write reviews for any of the products I order off amazon, and to explain why I am writing this review now I must first give you a bit of background information on why I purchased this to begin with. In less than two weeks (from when I first ordered this) I would be going away on vacation to visit family. A month prior I had done something completely stupid and something I regret. I had self harmed. So I was literally trying anything to get the scars to go away so that I could at least enjoy my vacation without having to wear long sleeves and sweat to death in the June heat. I looked up every possible way to get them to go away and nothing was working. I'm writing this in case anyone else is in my situation and freaking out. Because it saves me a lot of stress. So one day at work a girl came in with "henna" and then it clicked, if I did henna I could blend the marks or cover it completely. (They are fully healed cuts! Scars! No open wounds) So I stumbled upon Jagua (which is not henna btw) and the reviews on it seemed prefect, and me running out of options decided to give it a try.Now to my actual review of the product. I had it shipped over night but because of the holiday I got it a day later. So I can't say if it comes relatively quick with standard shipping. Anyway! I was going to wait until the night before my flight to try it but me being the impatient person that I am decided to try it right away. It was super simple to mix together, at first I thought I had added too much water as the consistency was more liquid than gel but after mixing it for a few more minutes it was perfect. I used one of the stencils that use the oil to transfer it, and with some tweaks I was almost 100% sure that my scars were covered. I had to sit still for about an hour for the gel to dry, then after that I left it on for a good five hours, it says only two but I went out and couldn't rinse it yet. When I finally rinsed it off I sort of panicked because it was not dark at all. However the instructions said to wait 24-48 hours for it to darken. So I went to sleep (btw it also recommends that you put paper towel or toilet tissue over it and tape it for the first night so that it doesn't bleed on other body parts or your sheets/cloths. Yeah do that. I have a huge smudge on my arm xD) the next morning my Jagua tattoo was basically like a permanent one and my scars are completely covered (where the actual scars are it took a bit darker)! It says it lasts 1-2 weeks. I go away next week so I'll probably touch it up (it says to wait for it to completely fade before redoing it. But I don't have time for that) but I am 100% happy, and stress free and now looking forward to my vacation. Jagua has saved the day/week! Now I'm not condoning this as a way to keep harming and just cover it with fake tattoos. I really regret what I did and more than likely will not do it again. I'm just super happy I'll be able to wear cute summer clothes and not have to die of a heat stroke! I will certainly buy this product again. I was so excited I drew all over my hand and arms. I did about 17 designs and probably still have half of the bottle of product left. I will update the review when I get back from vacation to explain how it held up in the water/other summer activities. Thank you Jagua!!! :)

Jagua...where have you been all my life?!
I am a Special Effects Makeup Artist, and I am always looking for new and exciting products to add to the mix. One of my omnipresent issues over the last several years has been tattoos. I have a number of items I like to use if I am doing work for photo shoots or film work, but tattoos for stage have always been a pain for me. Especially if it is a particularly large tattoo that has to last a looooong time. Again, many great products to do a small tattoo that you just re-apply every show, but what to do about a sizable tattoo that is both cost-prohibitive and seriously labor intensive to do over every single show? Everybody cries "Sharpie", but if you have ever tried it, you know it to be disappointing. And you would still have to re-apply it many times. So...enter Jagua. I finally found this stuff on the good ol' Internets a couple of months ago, and my interest was definitely piqued. But I had heard all of the horror stories and seen all the grisly photos of the dreaded BLACK HENNA, so I was concerned. But Jagua is not Black Henna at all, you say? The excitement built. And it can last for a week or more? More excitement. I am currently working on a show which calls for a massive Santa Muerte (Lady Death) tattoo on a young man's back. 14 shows over the next 3 weeks. I read everything I could find on Jagua, with much of my information coming from amazon as well. I talked the director into it, and we ordered some up. The well-packaged box arrived very quickly, and I immediately took everything out to investigate. I received the Jagua Base Gel, the freeze-dried Jagua juice in its own little applicator bottle, some Eucalyptus Oil to apply the 40 stencils also included, thorough instructions, 3 different applicator tips...even some toothpicks for touch ups! After some minor chemistry to mix the basic ingredients, I had my own little bottle of Jagua. We started out with a test tattoo, and after about 24 hours it looked great! A week later, and it still looks fantastic. We just applied the big back tattoo last night. The anxiety is killing me while we wait to see how it looks, but I have high hopes. Other collaborators of mine are already coming up with a variety of ideas for this magic stuff. My rating gets 4 stars for now, but I am hoping to update that to 5 stars in the next couple of days! I'll let you know how it turns out.

Waste of money
Wish I never bought this kit. First of all there are no henna tattoos in this kit. There are some cheesey flash like small tattoos that you can make a stencil out of. Noe about the ink. Some of the powder was wet at some point and stuck to the side of the bottle when I opened up my kit.Mixing the contents is easy but getting the ink back into the tiny bottle is another story. The ink becomes a gel once mixed and makes it thicker going back into the bottle. It doesn't just slide right in. The gel builds up right at the top and it ends up everywhere as you try to push it down into the bottle. Used a toothpick to get it back in. The ink will stain though and it lasts. Even if you wipe off the ink as soon as it touches the skin it will still show up 24 hours later. The bottle is easy to use kinda like pupffy paint. Most of the ink was wasted trying to get it back into the bottle. There has to be an easier way than this. This kit is overpriced for what it comes with. The box is tiny by the way. Deceptive photos in the listing make it look like a bigger kit than it is. I didn't need most of the stuff it came with. I was excited to get this but was so disappointed when it arrived. The ink does what is supposed to but you have to free hand any henna designs you may want. Also test certain areas before going crazy with it. I did some on my hands and some on my thigh. My hand had no issues but my thigh was itchy from it. I don't have sensitive skin so I was glad I did test areas like the product recommend. If you have sensitive skin I wouldn't use it.
