I had a stand which folded up and fit in my trombone case. This one is not that, and I need a separate bag to carry it along. However, I also am now using a laptop to display my music and this stand will hold the computer just fine, whereas the older stand was not sturdy enough. I have no need for the mic holder, but that doesn't detract from the utility of the stand. I am getting used to folding it up. I think it is a little better for me than a plastic stand I was considering, mainly because the bookplate is one piece. I also like the metal construction.

This portability of the stand is a nice concept butIt was tricky to put together. It’s flemsey and cheaply made. Sorry I bought it
