Escape to the Everglades (Florida Historical Fiction for Youth)

Wonderful for a read a loud or for kids learning about Florida history. I read it to my fourth graders and they loved it. They even related a part in the story when we visited the fort in St. Augustine.

It’s a great book with real Florida history

As a writer/researcher who has written a Florida History book myself,(CRACKER COW:A Narrative of Florida History)I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book for middle grade readers. It provided a great plot, characters who grabbed you and kept your interest all the way through, and lots of Florida history, all wrapped up in a great story.

Read this to my elementary age children. It is a well written and interesting story. My kids didn't like me to put it down. We just wish the story continued. A sequel perhaps?
