Dorman 917-355 Engine Oil Dipstick Tube - Plastic Compatible with Select Audi / Volkswagen Models

To be honest, I bought two different brands because one was twice the price of the other. It’s hard to pass up a sub-$5 part for my 2001 New Beetle, but I was somewhat suspect based on this brand’s reviews of their other VW parts. So, I also ordered the this Dorman brand (sub-$10). They will function the same, but based on my pictures, you can see how much thinner the plastic is on the URO. I only worry about this because the odd design of the dipstick tube (made of plastic) and how the heat makes them brittle. I replaced an OEM one that snapped with this Dorman brand. I also replaced the OEM dipstick because small pieces of the plastic have chipped off up at the top. AMZN did not have the Dorman brand, so I will use the URO brand in the mean time.

Dorman has been a company that's been around for a long time and NAPA is one of the biggest companies that sell there products. I have not even tried to use it yet but I know it will fit properly because of Dorman's reputation.
